Pre-listen of HORE “Siostry wiedzmy” DEBUT ALBUM

HORE is a relatively new music project created in 2018. The musicians, although experienced and from well-known bands, decided not to provide any personal details.

For the last three years, the musicians were slowly preparing their debut material. Now, it’s time to reveal that the record, lasting over 30 minutes, is an amalgamation of post-black metal, avant-garde jazz, and film music. Inspired by old folk tales and writings of SłowackiMickiewiczBroniewski, and Goethe, the album “Siostry Wiedźmy” (eng. “Sisters of the Witch“) is an original take on the subject.

Paradise Lost announce new album “Obsidian” / Out on 15th May

Paradise Lost - Obsidian

Obsidian… dark, reflective and black: it’s a pretty decent description of the music that PARADISE LOST have been making over the last 32 years, even though this most resilient of British metal bands have stoically refused to be pinned down to one easily defined formula. Powered by a lust for creativity and a stout devotion to haunting heaviness, PARADISE LOST have defied the odds by coming back stronger than ever over the past decade .

“Obsidian”, the new album of Gothic legends PARADISE LOST will be released on 15th May.

R.I.P stream forthcoming album ‘Street Reaper’

unnamed (28)

Portland, OR ‘Street Doom’ quartet R.I.P. is streaming their forthcoming sophomore album Street Reaper in full ahead of the release date on the 13th October. Hear and share the full album on YouTube and Bandcamp.

When R.I.P. came crawling out of the sewers of Portland, OR last year, their grimy, sleazy Street Doom was already a fully formed monstrosity that quickly infected the minds of everyone it encountered. Now, borne from the band’s declining state of mental health and increasing focus on songwriting, Street Reaper is an even more unhinged and menacing album than their 2016 debut In The Wind.

Borrowing equally from 80s Rick Rubin productions and Murder Dog magazine aesthetics, Street Reaper is a streamlined, yet brutally raw manifesto of heavy metal ferocity hearkening to the era when both metal and hip hop were reviled as the work of street thugs intent on destroying America’s youth.

Throughout, Angel Martinez’s guitar and John Mullett’s bass are inextricably interlocked, sounding like a massive sonic steamroller, while drummer Willie D keeps the beat solid and simple for the most powerful impact. And, the band’s extensive touring and excessive virgin sacrifices have clearly endued singer Fuzz with evermore agile vocal chords to drive it all home with extreme precision.

Operating on the belief that doom is not tied to a tuning or a time signature, but rather a raw and terrified feeling, R.I.P. eschews well trodden fantasy and mysticism tropes of the genre and focuses on conveying the horror and chaos inherent in the everyday reality of the human mind. With several years of touring under their heavily studded belt, R.I.P. has distinguished themselves from the interchangeable hordes of bands trying to play heavy metal by crafting an aesthetic and a sound all their own, focusing on the things that make metal heavy rather than adhering to the formulaic confines of a particular sub-genre.

Street Reaper opens with the knockout punch of “Unmarked Grave” and the rest is just sheer bludgeoning for bludgeoning’s sake as the album echoes the grimy vibe of legends like Saint VitusPentagram and Motorhead, with the no b.s. aesthetic of the early Metal Massacre compilations.

Street Reaper will be available on LP, CD and download on October 13th, 2017 via RidingEasy Records.

With their second album, “The Longed-For Reckoning”, FALL OF CARTHAGE prove their intentions are serious. After numerous live shows within the last few months, it’s clear this is not just a sideproject of Arkadius Antonik ( Official SuidAkrA , Realms of Odoric) and Martin Buchwalter ( Perzonal War ), who pulled Sascha Aßbach in front of the mic after a long absence from the music scene.

Sixteen songs represent a genre-defying creativity and joy for experimentation, as well as, their love for detail and natural sounds. Those who expect programmed blast-beats and typical Thrash or Metalcore structures will be in for a surprise. What you get is much more.

Their sound can be described somewhere between groove metal, hardcore and rap without having the feeling of simply throwing sounds together. The versatility of Sascha’s vocals is convincing in its full spectrum. Thanks to the solid and elaborate songwriting that all band members were involved in from the beginning, the new tracks are catchy without getting boring.

FOC have grown together musically, and so “The Longed-For Reckoning” will surely be a highlight for 2017.

Like the debut, “Behold,” this album was produced at Gernhart Studio in#Troisdorf, and promises a fat ass sound with superb mixing. Be on the lookout for “The Longed-For Reckoning”.
