Symphonic metal band Within Temptation are bringing their unique vision of the future to comic audiences with a brand new series from Opus Comics based on their 2019 album Resist and 2021 virtual concert Aftermath.
Set in the distant future, an endless battle rages between two species — an advanced but inherently humanoid species ruled by a techno-organic matriarch on one side, and a cruel race of alien artificial intelligences on the other. Multiple stories collide to paint a sweeping portrait of the matriarch’s life and her struggle to balance what she was created to be with the impossible forces that shape her.
After the release of a brand-new single “Don’t Pray For Me” and enjoying a massive summer festival season, Within Temptation are releasing special editions of their most iconic albums on CD today, August 26.
The 2022 special editions of ENTER & THE DANCE (1997), MOTHER EARTH(2000),THE SILENT FORCE(2004), THE HEART OF EVERYTHING(2007), AN ACOUSTIC NIGHT AT THE THEATRE (2009), THE UNFORGIVING(2011), and BLACK SYMPHONY(2008) are “must gets” for diehard fans of the band.
“We live in a world where cultures and beliefs are melting together, while at the same time acts of intolerance and injustice dominate the world,” Within Temptation state. “Both societal issues and a rapid increase in sub-beliefs have resulted in fear, fragmentation and disconnect.”
The band’s newest single “Don’t Pray For Me” is an anthem for pursuing one’s own destiny. Listen here.
Due to a technical setback, WITHIN TEMPTATION have rescheduled The Aftermath: A Show In a Virtual Reality from July 8 and July 9 to one week later. The online show will now take place on July 15 and July 16.
“You all know we are absolute heroes in rescheduling dates and now we’ve reached a new milestone: our shortest postponement in our career so far,” says Sharon den Adel. “We’re working very hard on our VR-event, but as it’s something we’ve never done before – and definitely something you have never SEEN before — we sometimes experience a few hiccups in the process that are completely new to us and the crew.
