Darkthrone’s ‘‘Goatlord: Original’ to be released on 10th February


Darkthrone began life in the late 80s, experimenting with thrash, death & doom metal before eventually delving into the black metal genre & becoming synonymous with the style as one of the most highly regarded acts.

‘Goatlord’ was the title of what was to originally be Darkthrone’s second album. The style followed very much in the vein of debut, ‘Soulside Journey’, with a mid-paced melodic, yet technical, death metal style. After the full completion of the tracks, however, Darkthrone’s focus shifted towards black metal and a more primitive style of composition & so the album was shelved, while work commenced on what was to be the Norwegian black metal milestone, ‘A Blaze in the Northern Sky’, which incorporated some parts from the ‘Goatlord’ tracks.

CARCASS announce 2023 tour dates in Ireland and the UK


CARCASS have announced four new tour dates for March 2023, which will take the British metal legends to Glasgow, Belfast, Limerick and Dublin. The band, who are currently on the road in the USA and Canada with Amon AmarthObituary and Cattle Decapitation, released their latest record Torn Arteries last year. Decibel stated that the band’s 7th record is a fusion of “the best elements of virtually every era of the extremely varied Carcass back catalogue”, with Metal Hammer voicing that “Once again, this is Total Carcass. No one does it better. In fact, no one else does it.”

TCHORNOBOG announce Split-LP with ABYSSAL


TCHORNOBOG announce a split-album with their British musical counterpart and brother-in-spirit ABYSSAL. Both bands contribute a single track of epic duration around 24 minutes each. The blackened US death doom outfit will release the split on November 25.

THE HALO EFFECT release footage of Gothenburg rooftop show


Swedish melodic death metal juggernauts THE HALO EFFECT featuring iconic musicians Mikael StanneJesper StrömbladNiclas Engelin,Peter Iwers and Daniel Svensson have released the footage of their highly acclaimed rooftop gig to the public. The show that originally aired in May was shot on a roof top near the harbour with a phenomenal view over the band’s hometown, Gothenburg, Sweden, and features 4 songs off the band’s chart smashing debut, Days Of The Lost (#1 in their home country, #6 in Germany, Austria and Finnland among others).

OBSCURA release video for ‘The Neuromancer’


Virtuosic extreme metallers OBSCURA are ready to start their European tour, to finally take their acclaimed sixth studio album A Valediction out to their fans live.
To celebrate this, they have released a brand new video for ´The Neuromancer´, their latest single from A Valediction.

´The Neuromancer´ was filmed by Mirko Witzki (Arch Enemy,PowerwolfKreator) at the famous Kupfersaal in Cologne, Germany in August 2022. The theatre was built in 1820 and has been protected for decades after being declared a historic monument.
