British extreme metal veterans Cradle Of Filth continue to terrorise and delight on their fourteenth opus, ‘Screaming Of The Valkyries, ‘ which will be unleashed on the 21st of March via Napalm Records. It delivers some of their most ambitious and devilish offerings yet. I got to speak to the band’s masterful creator and vocalist, Dani Filth, who joined me on a Zoom call while he was at his home in Suffolk, UK, to discuss the new album and much more.

Interview with Cammie Beverly by Carina Lawrence

Progressive metallers Oceans Of Slumber are back, armed with their new sixth album, ‘Where Gods Fear To Speak’, their heaviest and most ambitious opus yet and their first under-label, Season of Mist. I spoke to vocalist Cammie Beverly four years ago in 2020 (read here), during the COVID lockdown/pandemic, when they were releasing the self-titled Oceans Of Slumber album, which remains one of my favourite albums, so it was great to speak to her again about the upcoming new release coming out 13th September, which will hopefully earn them their rightful place in the metal scene as they continue to expand and go from strength to strength with each album and ‘Where Gods Fear To Speak’ is immense musically, structurally and conceptually and will undoubtedly be one of my top album releases of the year. Interview with Johanna Kurkela, Tuomas Holopainen and Troy Donockley by Carina Lawrence / Dark Art Conspiracy

Auri was born in 2011 when Nightwish’s keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen and multi-instrumentalist Troy Donockley teamed up with Finnish singer Johanna Kurkela. They first unleashed their magical charms in the form of their debut self-titled album in 2018, which displayed their otherworldly sound that is hard to define in a tremendous sense. Now, fortunately, they are back to stun us again with their sophomore album, ‘Those We Don’t Speak Of’, which is out on the 3rd of September via Nuclear Blast. In a world full of chaos due to Covid-19, Auri is the perfect escape from the madness. We caught up with the creative trio to find out all about the new album.

For the first time, the Norwegian music project Minneriket presents a full line-up of session musicians. Continuing the collaboration with Misstiq, Margarita Chernova and Norlene Olmedo introduced on the first new single, ‘Hjemlengsel’, which was released back in February 2021. The new single ‘Sorg og savn’, which was recently released on 25th June 2021, also features renowned musicians Māra Lisenko, Christina Rotondo, Elvann, Niklas Kveldulfsson, Ingrid.mariea and Maria Kosma. The latest single, Sorg og savn is the first glimpse of this new roster as vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Stein Akslen, the man behind Minneriket, expands his vision to bring forth a unique Romantic Black metal musical experience which is a sublime concoction of black metal, goth and classical music. We caught up with Stein to discuss this change in direction for him, the new singles and what the future holds, amongst other things.
