ENSLAVED announce new EP ‘Caravans To The Outer Worlds’ + reveal single/video


There is a desert which is very old, very dry, and very dangerous. Few have ever dared to cross it, and fewer have returned. Some say that it is a desert between places, others say that it is a desert between worlds. Those who have crossed it and returned swear that the desert is another world in itself – an astral bridge, which swallows all but the most well-prepared travelers.

Enslaved are such seasoned voyagers. In their last venture, they descended into Utgard, deep in the dark beneath their native Norway. Now, they are preparing to set off again, not down this time, but out. They intend to cross the desert, into it and perhaps beyond it.

For the first time, the Norwegian music project Minneriket presents a full line-up of session musicians. Continuing the collaboration with Misstiq, Margarita Chernova and Norlene Olmedo introduced on the first new single, ‘Hjemlengsel’, which was released back in February 2021. The new single ‘Sorg og savn’, which was recently released on 25th June 2021, also features renowned musicians Māra Lisenko, Christina Rotondo, Elvann, Niklas Kveldulfsson, Ingrid.mariea and Maria Kosma. The latest single, Sorg og savn is the first glimpse of this new roster as vocalist and multi-instrumentalist Stein Akslen, the man behind Minneriket, expands his vision to bring forth a unique Romantic Black metal musical experience which is a sublime concoction of black metal, goth and classical music. We caught up with Stein to discuss this change in direction for him, the new singles and what the future holds, amongst other things. ENSLAVED reveal ‘Homebound’ live video/single + Cinematic Tour 2020 live releases are out Now


The latest chapter in Enslaved’s 30th anniversary voyage is coming to a close. Today, the Norwegian avant-gardists have released their full Cinematic Tour 2020 live album/DVD collection, and in celebration they have premiered a live video for ‘Homebound’, the final act in this tetralogy of exquisite audiovisual performances.

‘Homebound’ is a snapshot of a unique show, recorded in summer 2020 in Sotra, Norway, encompassing five tracks from Utgard,Enslaved‘s latest studio album. Utgard saw Enslaved inhabit an esoteric space – finding themselves fueled by the pace of their black metal origins, while continuing their melodic evolution.

ENSLAVED reveal ‘Fenris’ live video + single from ‘Chronicles of the Northbound (Cinematic Tour 2020)’ live album


Left-field metal luminaries Enslaved have revealed the next audiovisual gem taken from their forthcoming Cinematic Tour 2020 live releases. As part of their 30th anniversary revelries, the band has today premiered a live video for their single ‘Fenris’. A classic track from their early arsenal– though black metal to its core, ‘Fenris’ nevertheless hinted at their kosmische obsessions that lurked behind the curtain.

This performance of ‘Fenris’ is taken from their upcoming live release Chronicles of the Northbound (Cinematic Tour 2020)which sees Enslaved fly through a career spanning entirely fan-voted set of favourites. It is one part of their four new live album/DVD Cinematic Tour 2020 collection due to be released on June 25th.

The Norwegian Black Metal band SATYRICON meets Edvard Munch’s art. The exhibition Satyricon & Munch explores the intersection of Black Metal and visual art, where a specially composed musical work is connected with a selection of Edvard Munch’s images. When you enter the large hall on MUNCH’s tenth floor, this exhibition will create an atmosphere that opens up new entrances to Edvard Munch’s work, and to SATYRICON’s music.

Kvelertak’s Latest Album “Splid” Inspired a Video Game and a New EP


Norwegian metallers KVELERTAK have immortalized their latest album SPLID in video game form and beyond.

Game of Doom arrives on May 13. It takes fans and singer Ivar Nikolaisen on an epic quest through a retro-style maze where they are tasked with finding the other band members, as well as defeating the ghost of Tagholdt, who haunts a local museum and is a character from the song “Fanden ta dette hull!”
