IANAI is a mysterious multi-instrumentalist project from Jaani Peuhu (Swallow The Sun), which includes collaborations from members of HIM, Massive Attack, Sisters of Mercy and The Rasmus. Through Jaani’s vision and the impressive array of guests, it is no surprise this debut album ‘Sunir’ embodies many sounds and influences, taking you on a beautiful, transcendent journey. ‘Sunir’ will take listeners through the instrumentation of Scandinavia, Africa, Asia, the Middle East and South America and beyond.

The Northman songwriter/actor & former Heilung singer Jonas Lorentzen announces debut Nebala album


After being involved with Heilung for two years, and more recently with the worldwide-acclaimed movie The Northman as songwriter and actor, Jonas Lorentzen decided to focus on his own musical expression, based on a reimagination of Nordic Folk and spiritually driven music. The result is Nebala, spearheaded by Jonas Lorentzen, but assisted and graced by powerful talents such as Sebastian Gainsbourough (Vessel, The Northman, Manchester Collective), Kjell Braaten (Wardruna, Origami Galaktika) as well as non-musician minds assisting in the conceptual development, Doctor Mathias Nordvig (Professor of Pre-Christian Religion at CU Boulder) and Philosopher Naina Gupta (University of Kingston).

Renowned Dark Nordic Folk artist, Nanna Barslev, is pleased to announce her second single off her upcoming debut solo album, “Mod Vrede”. Translated into English as “spell against anger” “Mod Vrede” is a type of protection chant to shield oneself from the anger of others.

Interview with Johanna Kurkela, Tuomas Holopainen and Troy Donockley by Carina Lawrence / Dark Art Conspiracy

Auri was born in 2011 when Nightwish’s keyboardist Tuomas Holopainen and multi-instrumentalist Troy Donockley teamed up with Finnish singer Johanna Kurkela. They first unleashed their magical charms in the form of their debut self-titled album in 2018, which displayed their otherworldly sound that is hard to define in a tremendous sense. Now, fortunately, they are back to stun us again with their sophomore album, ‘Those We Don’t Speak Of’, which is out on the 3rd of September via Nuclear Blast. In a world full of chaos due to Covid-19, Auri is the perfect escape from the madness. We caught up with the creative trio to find out all about the new album.
