English progressive metal heroes SITKTH drop a psychedelic video for their song ‘Behind The Doors’. Inspired by vocalist Mikee Goodman’s experience with depression, the video depicts a search for light through the darkness.
On August 6, 2021, three-time Grammy-nominated hard rock heavyweights and platinum-selling band Killswitch Engage unleashed a streaming event that took fans by storm. The event took place at The Palladium in Worcester in the band’s native Massachusetts, which has been the site of many iconic KsE shows throughout the band’s history. The performance setlist consists of 2019’s Atonement in full, along with their 2000-released, self-titled debut album in full — with some fun and unexpected surprises along the way! This special event was directed by David Brodsky and Allison Woest for MyGoodEye.
Just ahead of their set at the legendary Sweden Rock festival, The Halo Effect have revealed yet another melodic death metal gem. Leading up to the release of their highly anticipated debut album “Days Of The Lost”, to be released on August 12th via Nuclear Blast.
Frontman Mikael Stanne tells about the track: “The Needless End deals with the crippling inability to deal with abstract problems. Issues that just seem too huge or incomprehensible falls by the wayside in order to deal with more immediate but less important issues. We end up somewhere not because we want to but because we were unable to understand what we needed to do. There is an intensity to this song and a uplifting melody that I think suits this idea. Among all the anger and resentment it’s also hopeful and has an infectious groove and drive.”
Texas Rock Band BLACKTOP MOJO has released their second animated video for their two part compilation series, “Darlin I Won’t Tell”. Created by front-man MATT JAMES and bassist CATT MURTIS on the porch of the band’s house in Palestine, TX, with an acoustic guitar, “Darlin I Won’t Tell” unfolded in Nashville with the help of producer PHILIP MOSLEY. The animated video for “Darlin I Won’t Tell” was preceded by “Jealousy / Make Believe” in April.
While we can expect the biggest bands at the event, even the new promissing ones could be witnessed. From the biggest ones and for the first one, we can expect the Polish imp himself – Nergal. Not with Behemoth tho, but with his other project Me and That Man. Another highlight is going to be legendary King Diamond with his Mercyful Fate.
From the less known names the festival will give us some old school doomy stuff from Pentagram with their controversial frontman. Psychedic needs will be satisfied by Oranssi Pazuzu. At last Canadian black metal from Panzerfaust is in the Europe, too. This time in the bigger event than small clubs. (In)famous Gaahl is going to play his black metal with his G. Wyrd this year as well.
If you like modern stuff, death core bands as Lorna Shore or Rings of Saturn shall make you happy.
If you prefer experiments, Psykup is going to deliver some with their mix of genres. Melt-Banana from Japan will be at Brutal Assault as well with their crazy combo of grind and noise.
There will be another first timers of course. More in the image. Stay tuned for more info.
