ANTICHRIST set release date for IRON BONEHEAD debut, reveal first track

Iron Bonehead Productions sets March 9th, 2018 as the international release date for the highly anticipated debut album of Peru’s AntichristPax Moriendi, on CD and vinyl LP formats.

Formed in 2004 but not really kicking into recorded gear until a decade later, Antichrist soon released a steady stream of demos between 2014 and 2016. Through this requisite underground graft, the trio studiously perfected their craft, shaping its huge ‘n’ haunting foundation – the doom-death trinity of Thergothon, Unholy, and Winter – into something qualitatively their own. And indeed, across the five-song/45-minute Pax Moriendi, the listener is taken down into sewers a mile deep (or more), tweaking that immortal doom-death schematic into something righteously foul and filthy but still well within the range of melancholic human experience. Crushing-yet-ethereal chords reverberate through the forlorn night, and ever deeper into one’s worst corners of their subconscious; the attack is slow yet insistent early on, with the foulness and filth flung liberally, to either alienate part-timers or beckon the most intrepid of souls. Then, as the album plays on, Pax Moriendi reveals a wounded sort of slo-mo melody, a blanching vulnerability, shedding its layers of metaphysical/spiritual garbage for the laid-bare/laid-to-rest epiphany of climactic closer “You Will Never See Sun Light.”

No, indeed you won’t when faced with the enormity of Antichrist‘s Pax Moriendi. Here is your funeral: welcome the end. Walk forth to the commencement of that funeral with the new track “In the Dark and Mournful Corner of Memory” at Iron Bonehead‘s Soundcloud. Cover and tracklisting are as follows:

Tracklisting for Antichrist (Peru)’s Pax Moriendi
1. Forgotten in Nameless Suffering
2. Obscurantism
3. In the Dark and Mournful Corner of Memory
4. Screams and Lamentations Drowned in the Empty of Silence

OPERATION: MINDCRIME : ‘The New Reality’ – new album and UK tour by group featuring Geoff Tate (ex-Queensrÿche)

The New Reality’ is the third and final chapter in an album trilogy by iconic metal vocalist Geoff Tate. Its release comes a year after the release of the second part, entitled ‘Resurrection’, and two since the first, ‘The Key’. Operation: Mindcrime is a creative platform that continues in the spirit of the historic Queensrÿche album of the same name, spawning concepts as grand as the music and intertwining the intensity of Tate’s iconic past with his former band and the provocative, progressive mindset that has made him one of music’s most resolute forces. Joined by a cast of musicians whose talent and resumés speak volumes for the quality of musicianship that is on display here, ‘The New Reality’ is another quality progressive rock/metal entry from Tate.

Geoff Tate sold more than 25 million records at the helm of Queensrÿche, the band he fronted for three decades from their inception to 2012, earning three Grammy nominations, five MTV Music Video Award nominations and an MVA victory along the way. The landmark concept album ‘Operation: Mindcrime’ thrust Tate’s unique social consciousness, style and expertly crafted lyrics into the national spotlight in 1988 and was followed in 1990 by ‘Empire’, the album that took Queensrÿche to arena headlining status and sold over 3 million copies on the back of singles such as ‘Silent Lucidity’ and ‘Jet City Woman’. By the time they released ‘Promised Land’ in 1994, Tate was widely acknowledged as one of the best frontmen in rock and metal and a driving force behind one of the most innovative bands around. From these albums up to 2009’s overlooked gem ‘American Soldier’, Tate’s ambitious concept album that explores the consequences of war as told through the voices of veterans, his thirteen album tenure with Queensrÿche was marked by exploration, intrigue, bold risks and gratifying results. ‘The New Reality’ continues that musically adventurous tradition.

Raw dog dirty realness as Rock ‘n’ Roll should be! I would describe this band as heavily influenced by The Stooges, MC5, Johnny Thunders or New York Dolls, of course there are many bands out there with similar influences, The Cherry Dolls are a band who gets it right. I love the sort of country and western meets old school punk track …….. but I really dig the whole album! I suspect these catz would be really awesome live!”
