Interview with Tony Dolan by Carina Lawrence / Dark Art Conspiracy
Venom Inc. vocalist and bassist Tony Dolan chatted to us ahead of their special ‘Black Metal’ 40th-anniversary set at Bloodstock Festival UK, which takes place on its final day, 14th August. He talked to us about the festival, their follow-up album to their 2017 ‘Avé’ titled ‘There’s Only Black’ due for release later this year and how Venom came to reform in 2015 with the 1989-1992 Venom line-up under the new rebranded Venom Inc and more!
Just one day after the release of their anniversary re-issues We Still Take You With Us and Live At Paradiso (for the first time!), symphonic metal titans EPICA will celebrate 20years of existence live at Tilburg’s 013, the same place where they played their first show (supporting Anathema) back in 2002.
However, since the show has long been sold out and not everyone can join the celebrations on September 3rd, the band are bringing the show to everyone via the internet. Fans everywhere can tune in to an exclusive, pro-shot live stream of the entire show that will contain plenty of surprises in the setlist, several guests and spectacular stage effects!
Norwegian Rock outfit LEPROUS continue to tour in promotion of their acclaimed 7th studio album “Aphelion”, which was released last year via InsideOutMusic, and have now announced a comprehensive European headline tour for February/March 2023 with Kalandra in the support role.
July 18th 2021 marked the 40th anniversary of thrash metal pioneers Anthrax. The celebration began in May of last year and culminated on that July 16th/17th with a global livestream event, shot at the Los Angeles soundstage/studio The Den. For two-plus hours, Anthrax performed an extensive set of hits and deep cuts pulled from their vast catalogue. Today, Anthrax announces that the entire performance, plus never-before-seen rehearsal footage, and Scott Ian’s New York City “walking tour” pointing out the spots that played a role in Anthrax’s formation and history, will be released in North America on July 15th on Blu-Ray/CD/Digital (Megaforce). ‘XL‘ will also have a UK/European digital release on July 15th (Nuclear Blast), followed by a Blu-Ray release (inc. 2CD + 1Blu-Ray) on July 22nd. UK/European pre-orders for ‘XL‘ can be placed HERE.
For their 20th band anniversary in 2022, Symphonic metal titans EPICA have prepared a massive celebration from January to December, with plenty of surprises, new projects and of course some new music too that will all be revealed throughout the year.
Having recently released their critically acclaimed early demos collection The First Damned, Decapitated are proud to announce that 2022 will mark their return to Europe-wide touring. The 33-date trek, launched in celebration of their 25th anniversary, will see the masterly death metallers hit stages across 11 different countries. Special guests on the run will be Black Tongue, Heart Of A Coward and Inferi.
