Symphonic metal band Within Temptation are bringing their unique vision of the future to comic audiences with a brand new series from Opus Comics based on their 2019 album Resist and 2021 virtual concert Aftermath.
Set in the distant future, an endless battle rages between two species — an advanced but inherently humanoid species ruled by a techno-organic matriarch on one side, and a cruel race of alien artificial intelligences on the other. Multiple stories collide to paint a sweeping portrait of the matriarch’s life and her struggle to balance what she was created to be with the impossible forces that shape her.
Coinciding with the release of her first-ever Best Of: Living The Dream one week ago, Tarja is being presented with six Impala awards commemorating more than 250,000 sales in Europe for her albums Beauty And The Beat, Act II, Luna Park Ride, The Shadow Self, In The Raw,and From Spirits And Ghosts (Score For A Dark Christmas).
To celebrate, Tarja and earMUSIC shared the live video for her song “Innocence.” First released on Tarja’s fifth studio album The Shadow Self, the fan-favorite expresses Tarja’s gratitude towards classical music.
Tarja has chosen this moment in her life to release her first-ever “Best Of: Living The Dream”.
Looking back on 15 extremely successful years of the Finnish singer’s solo career, the Best Of contains not only Tarja’s most well-known tracks, many of them newly remastered at “Sterling Sound”, and personal favorites from all six studio albums – ‘My Winter Storm’, ‘What Lies Beneath’, ‘Colours in the Dark’, ‘The Brightest Void’, ‘The Shadow Self’ and ‘In the Raw’ – but also the never-before-heard song “Eye Of The Storm”.
Antagonistic punk rapper MIKEY ROTTEN has teamed up with bass music producer VOLT and producer / drummer VIPERACTIVE on the new collaborative single and music video, “Misfits”. Shot and edited by Thereelmj and J_visionz, the video features ROTTEN performing the track before a raucous, enthusiastic audience.
After the release of a brand-new single “Don’t Pray For Me” and enjoying a massive summer festival season, Within Temptation are releasing special editions of their most iconic albums on CD today, August 26.

Texas prog-metal outfit OCEANS OF SLUMBER have released a new single, titled ‘The Waters Rising’. The haunting track is the first new offering from the band since the release of their 2020 self-titled album. Led by the soulful power of lead vocalist Cammie Gilbert, ‘The Waters Rising’ welcomes fans back into the world of OCEANS OF SLUMBER with more to come in due time.
