RIVER BLACK are releasing another hard hitting track taken from their self-titled debut album, ‘River Black’, which has been scheduled for release on July 7th.
The American modern metal pioneers in the wake of BURNED BY THE SUN are now streaming the song “Jaws” exclusively via Metal Injection at the link below.
RIVER BLACK vocalist Mike Olender comments: “Our track ‘Jaws’ is about the paternal instinct of human nature. When I started a family, I came face to face with certain forces that I had not encountered before, rooted in the instinct to protect my family from harm. It was so deep that I found, I had to protect myself from my own emotions. A graphic news story about child abuse or predators could haunt me for days. I saw my sense of compassion and the need to understand why people do terrible things crumble with my acceptance of my own sin – wrath. This song is for the fathers and mothers who give of themselves selflessly to provide for their families, and it is dedicated to the victims of neglect and horrific abuse.”

U.S. death metallers ORIGIN share playthrough video for the track “Accident And Error”, two days before the release of their new album, “Unparalleled Universe”. Watch the band deliver a seamless performance here:
“Unparalleled Universe” will be released on June 30th via Nuclear Blast (North America) and Agonia Records (Rest of the World).
For 20 years, ORIGIN has engaged a full-blown sensory assault of tight, taut, and technical death metal amplified by flashes of grindcore and groove. However, 2017’s “Unparalleled Universe” sees the quartet – Paul Ryan (guitar, vocals), John Longstreth (drums), Mike Flores (bass, vocals), and Jason Keyser (vocals) – strengthen that blueprint with a handful of surprises.
“It feels like an Origin album, but it’s unparalleled to what you might expect if you haven’t heard us for 10 or 15 years” says Ryan. “To me, it’s a true reflection of ourselves. I compare it to an action movie. Our earlier material is filled with action from beginning to end. Now, the idea is to add a little more depth and dynamics. You could say there are some twists in the plot musically”.
MAYHEM are announcing yet another leg of their European “Purgatorium”-tour that comes with the complete performance of their black metal landmark debut album ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas’.
A list of all confirmed MAYHEM shows including festival performances this summer can be viewed below.
Legendary MAYHEM vocalist Attila Csihar commented: “The first time I ever heard from Mayhem was in ’91-’92 when I received a letter from Euronymous. I did not know that message was going to change my whole life. They were looking for a new vocalist to replace Dead on their debut album. Of course, I agreed to their offer and in 1993 we recorded ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas’, which to me remains one of the most magical albums of all time. The music opened some unfathomable dimensions that reached beyond what we were able to handle and it unleashed a complete chaos, which ended up at burning churches and eventually a murder within the band. It was almost impossible to release that record, but when it finally came out under the sun in ’94, it left a lasting impact on the whole metal scene. The so-called “2nd wave of black metal” was born in the cold and dark underground of Oslo. At the same timeMAYHEM collapsed and got burned down as well. From those ashes, the band had to rise again, when MAYHEM reunited with some old and new members. Yet that album always remained so strong and so unique that even after my reunion with MAYHEM in 2004, we were still not comfortable to present it live in full. Time passed and the whole band got stronger and more experienced. In 2016 we suddenly felt that it was time to finally play the whole record in order to unleash That Beast after more than two decades. ‘De Mysteriis Dom Sathans’ will soon become alive!”
