IMPURE WILHELMINA are premiering the first track taken from their new album, ‘Radiation’, which has been slated for release on July 7th.
Regarding the new song, IMPURE WILHELMINA comment: “We have chosen the opening track ‘Great Falls beyond Death’ of our new full-length entitled ‘Radiation’ for the first premiere. The song starts with an easy melody line and a massive guitar that both evolve into a more dark and twisted tune. The vocals grow steadily more epic until the song coalesces into its melancholic finale – evoking fatalism, fanaticism, ignorance, and the fear of death. We see it as a perfect way to start the journey towards our new album – to take-off and then fall through an uncharted musical radiation.”
IMPURE WILHELMINA are furthermore revealing artwork and track-list of ‘Radiation’, which can both be viewed below.

Influenced by bands like Alice In Chains, Five Finger Death Punch, Pantera and Godsmack, Vancouver, BC’s CRNKSHFT have carved out a sound in the vein of Shinedown, Breaking Benjamin, Alter Bridge plus Black Stone Cherry. Going full throttle, the band release their new self-titled EP, out now as of March 24, 2017 to follow their 2015 debut ‘Hard Fucking Rock’. The EP was produced by Daren Grahn who has engineered on albums for Metallica, Hedley, Motley Crue, Bon Jovi and features their award winning single ‘Systematic’ voted ‘Best Metal Song’ at the Academia Awards Academy in Los Angeles, demonstrating the band’s punishing high octane sound.
“Dominion of Pain”, the second single by CADAVERIA from “Mondoscuro” EP, is now available on iTunes.
The track, in streaming on the band’s YouTube channel at this link https://youtu.be/gbdWgNxhVc4, features Flegias (vocals duet with Cadaveria) and Pier Gonella (final part of the guitar solo) from Necrodeath.
The vinyl limited edition of Mondoscuro EP was released last month via Sleaszy Rider records, anticipated by the single “Christian Woman” (Type O Negative cover). The third and last single “Mater Tenebrarum”, to be released in late April, will complete the trilogy that sees Cadaveria herself embodying the songs’ titles for the cover artworks.
Finnish metal group Noumena will release their fifth studio album ”Myrrys” on the 28th of April. The album is a strong follower to Noumena’s previous album ”Death Walks With Me” released four years ago.
As an appetizer, Noumena serves a single track “Metsän viha” in digital services and as a lyric video in YouTube:
– Metsän viha is an upbeat opening track of the album, which is a great choice as a single as well. The song combines catchy melodies, badass riffs, overwhelming drumming and Andy’s and Suvi’s merciless growls. Lyrics deal with the humanity’s ability to destroy everything vital and dear, comments guitarist Tuukka Tuomela, who has composed the song.
The album is an eloquent combination of 90’s style melodic death metal and melancholic Finnish mollie tunes. The album is mixed and mastered by the metal visionary Dan Swanö, who has ensured wide and dynamic sounds. “Myrrys” offers a musical journey all the way from catchy upbeat moments to sturdy and desolate emotions.
With melodies, riffs, sounds and lyrics, “Myrrys” paints a picture of a mindscape filled with contradictions and Northern despair. The album title “Myrrys” (old Finnish) refers to ruckus, tumult or uproar. So far, Noumena has sticked to English as lyrical language, but the album themes, including Finnish nature and cultural heritage, and intimate stories required the use of Finnish. Every band member has contributed to songwriting, and the formidable cover art is crafted by Finnish young talent Otto Lehtonen.
“Myrrys” is Noumena’s second album with vocalist Suvi Uura, who contrasts and balances skillfully Antti Haapanen’s growls with her deep voice. Uura joined Noumena in 2009 and the rest of the band are original members in the band turning 20 years in 2018.
On the album release day (28.04.2017) Noumena will also release their next official music video directed by Jyrki Murtomäki.
“Myrrys” is released by Haunted Zoo Productions, which is an independent record label established by Noumena members. Distribution by Playground Music and Inverse Records. Released in Russia by FONO under the license from Haunted Zoo Productions. Album is released in CD/LP/DIGI.

Ottawa, ON’s LONGHOUSE came into being in 2013 when guitarist Marc Casey and bassist/vocalist Joshua Cayer turned their long-standing song-writing partnership into a full band with drummer Mike Hache to complete their circle of dark, riffy, heavy textured doom metal. They released their debut album ‘Earth from Water’ in 2015, a spiritual odyssey into the perseverance of the human spirit and the lessons we can learn from the natural world.
In November 2016, LONGHOUSE returned to Wolf Lake Studios to record with Mike Bond (Loviatar, Norilsk, Arms of the Girl) once again as producer and engineer for the outcome to be their sophomore album entitled “II: Vanishing”. The album continues the pleasing progression of their debut while retaining the band’s core sound of heavy, intricate riffs, splashed with a touch of post-metal to guide you on a dark and visceral journey spanning nearly 40 minutes over five tracks.
“II: Vanishing has a logical evolution that is evident in the composition, as well as production. I also think that fans should take a moment to reflect on some of themes that are threaded throughout the album.” says vocalist / bassist Joshua Cayer. “The bulk of my ideas musically and lyrically come from exploring Indigenous ways of knowing. I am Algonquin First Nations. My family’s community is Kitigan Zibi, outside of Maniwaki, QC. However, I grew up in the city, mostly detached from my culture. As a father, I have been trying to immerse myself in the stories, wisdom, and strength of our Elders, knowledge keepers and story tellers, so that I can pass that on to my daughters. Because this takes up so much space in terms of who I am, and who I am becoming, it plays a very large part in terms of influences I draw upon.”
Those influences can be heard in LONGHOUSE‘s first single “No Name, No Marker”, asong written for the voiceless Indigenous children who were abused and died while forced to attend residential schools in Canada and were buried in unmarked graves.
“II: Vanishing” will be unleashed digitally on April 14th via their Bandcamp with physical cassette release June 2017 (date to be determined) via Sunmask Records.
Track Listing:
1. Hunter’s Moon (8:38)
2. Vanishing (6:13)
3. Blood And Stone (5:57)
4. No Name, No Marker (7:59)
5. The Vigil (10:06)
ULSECT are premiering the second track taken from their self-titled debut album, which has been slated for release on May 12th.
Regarding the song premiere, ULSECT comment: “The track ‘Our Trivial Toil’ depicts absolute futility. The colliding ways of man leading to inevitable doom. The oppressive force displayed throughout this song makes it one of the heaviest on our debut; even midst passages of deceptive calm, imminent terror lurks beneath the surface, ready to seize occasion…”

It is hard to imagine Tilburg as the heart of darkness. Yet in musical terms, this expression qualifies as an apt description for the homely Dutch city that has spawned such acts as blackened extremists DODECAHEDRON and rhythmic progressives TEXTURES. Out of this circle, ULSECT have emerged.
The death metal innovators feature guitarist Joris Bonis and drummer Jasper Barendregt from DODECAHEDRON as well as former TEXTURES bass-player Dennis Aarts. It therefore hardly comes as a surprise that elements of their origins have permeated into ULSECT‘s eponymous debut album. You will find high technical precision and prowess woven into dense dissonance and lucent atmosphere.
‘Ulsect’ embodies relentless post-death metal aesthetics fraught with shifting patterns and dark tonality. The primeval forces unleashed by pioneers such as GORGUTS and DEATHSPELL OMEGA are violently harnessed to serve a sinister musical purpose. Nightmares transformed into sonic matter.
ULSECT herewith cordially invite you to dare and explore their dark dimension.
