The sound of steel will ring out loud and proud once again this summer, as the death/thrash/shred metal quartet EXMORTUS return to the tour trail for their first live dates in more than 18 months. As road warriors who have toured extensively in recent years with the likes of Amon Amarth, Death Angel, Abbath, Marty Friedman, Obituary and Dark Tranquillity, it was an uncharacteristically quiet period for the California-based slaves to the sword, but the band promises that their summer shows are the first of many more to come.

The countdown to July 18th, the 40th anniversary of thrash/metal legends Anthrax is well underway and heading towards the big finale. A special worldwide livestream event, presented by Danny Wimmer Presents and originating from Los Angeles, will kick off in the UK on Saturday July 17th starting at Midnight BST. (Check out the trailer HERE.) Livestream event tickets and special 40th anniversary ticket bundles – one including a live video chat with the members of Anthrax – are on sale now. Special 40th anniversary artwork was created by Brian Ewing and Stephen Thompson for limited edition t-shirts, commemorative tickets and an anniversary poster. ANTHRAX announce 40th anniversary celebrations inc. career spanning live stream + video testimonial series feat. distinguished musicians
One of The Big Four turns the big 4-0 this year, and are celebrating with a number of special activities and events to honour the landmark anniversary. Formed by guitarist Scott Ian and bassist Dan Lilker in Queens, NY on July 18th 1981, Anthrax were one of the first thrash metal bands to emerge from the East Coast and quickly became regarded as a leader in the genre alongside Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth.
