CRADLE OF FILTH Announce – You Will Know The Lion By His Claw (OFFICIAL LYRIC VIDEO)

According to  Cradle Of Filth’s Facebook :

UK’s legendary extreme metal icons CRADLE OF FILTH have released the second single off of their eagerly awaited 12th album, ‘Cryptoriana – The Seductiveness Of Decay’.
Watch the official lyric video for ‘You Will Know The Lion By His Claw’ here: https://youtu.be/s8r6DoD83ok

Commented singer Dani Filth: “This track is one of my favourite songs from the new ‘Cryptoriana’ album -aside from ‘Achingly Beautiful’, ‘Death And The Maiden’ and the title track- due to its very unique flavour and its vehement brutality. The culminative strike is especially very ‘Dusk… and Her Embrace’ era Black Metal…
Inspired by the works of H. Rider Haggard, a Victorian author who schooled in my home town of Ipswich, this song uses the railroad annexation of the Transvaal in Africa during the 19th century to paint a vision of the greedy machinations of man coming up against a furious, displaced natural foe, thus posing an allegory for the downtrodden, revolting.
I also have the latin of this expression tattooed on my arm (due to being the usual supercilious Leo!).
The quote was made famous having been said in 1697 by Johann Bernoulli about Isaac Newton’s anonymously submitted solution to Bernoulli’s challenge regarding the Brachistochrone curve.
So… Enjoy. Indulge. Desire. Darken.”

Furthermore the band also announced to release the dates for the upcoming European tour in support of ‘Cryptoriana – The Seductiveness Of Decay’ on Thursday, August 17.

Kent Alt-Hardcore Band COVE Unveil New Video SOLIS

Kent’s COVE mark their return by unleashing blistering new video SOLIS on an unsuspecting world. The track brims with energy and ear for detail, cementing the band as masters of cacophony who are set to make one hell of a dent in British heavy music.

The meaning of the song Solis is subjective to the listener, everyone in the band helped contribute to it and in a way we all have our own definition of what the song is about. To some it may hint at the idea of when one door closes another opens and to someone else it may point at something far more emotive, the loss of a loved one for example. We feel song values are compromised when the outright meaning is spelled out too easily, it’s like telling someone the end of a film before they’ve watched it. Our way of thinking is that the meaning is personal to the individual/individuals listening at that moment in time. We believe this gives the audience a way to have their own personal connection with a song and not be persuaded into what they should take from it

Recorded by Tom Keech (We Are The Ocean, Don Broco) in the midst of British winter at a studio that was undergoing construction, the icy and derelict surroundings helped to spawn the creation of SOLIS. Having spent much of 2017 crafting new music, the track is a taster of things to come from COVE. Comprising of vocalist Ben Shorten, bassist Charlie Smith, drummer Jack Bowdery and guitarists Ben Brazier & Pete Woolven, COVE released their debut effort We Were Once Lost in October of 2016. Widespread praise for the record fuelled a hefty touring schedule, including shows with Blood Youth, Create To Inspire and Holding Absence.

The band will also hit the road at the end of this month throughout August, with two date supporting Holding Absence:

7th Jul – The Ex, Corby
26th Jul – Black Heart, London
4th Aug – Forum, Tunbridge Wells (w/ Holding Absence)
5th Aug – The Booking Hall, Dover (w/ Holding Absence)
9th Aug – Sticky Mike’s, Brighton
10th Aug – Subside, Birmingham
11th Aug – O’RIleys, Hull
12th Aug – The Garage Attic, Glasgow
13th Aug – Santiagos, Leeds
1st Oct – Deadbolt Festival, Manchester

Originally premiered on Metal Insider, “We Are The Grey” and Phoenix Aflame are available to pre-order HERE now.

“Memory of a Sapphire quickly became a favorite for us in the studio- it’s poppy and melody-oriented, which makes it a lot of fun to play live. Spotlighting Mr. Chris Amott’s guitar artistry on it adds a whole new level of zing, and as it really represents our sound most completely, it all seemed very natural to make it the first music video for the album.” – Zoë Federoff (vocals)

Bloodstock Festival announces Gravil, watch the new video Detonate

Bloodstock Festival announces GraViL + watch ‘Detonate’ new music video

“Pure metal delivered with maximum vitriol. This band rules harder than Josef Stalin.” – Dom Lawson

Watch the new music video ‘Detonate’

The latest announcement by Bloodstock Open Air sees the London melodeath group Gravil confirmed for the prestigious Sophie Lancaster stage on Sunday 14th August. This new addition to the bill once again demonstrates Bloodstock’s commitment to championing new bands in the metal community.

“We are honoured to be a part of Bloodstock Open Air 2017” says Gravil vocalist Grant Stacey. “Each year this spiritual home of heavy metal somehow betters the year before. We have each spent a lot of time on the hallowed ground of Catton Park, witnessing stunning new bands, the earth shattering veterans of the main stage and embracing the metal music community that we have come to call our family.  Now we are privileged to grace the Sophie stage, whose very name represents the strength and pride of our brotherhood. See you there!”

2017 has seen a resurgence for GraViL. Their sophomore album ‘No More Forgiveness’ was released in May and has being going down a storm with media and the band’s fanbase. With various premieres by the likes of Metal Hammer, Scuzz TV, Terrorizer and more, GraViL have now unleashed the music video for elite track ‘Detonate’.
This new video clip shows the group in a high-octane performance which also features three versions of the mysterious woman, ‘Obliti’… the present broken self, a lost dream of grandeur and the self-loathing dark entity which destroyed it.
“‘Detonate’ is a personal song drawn from a negative situation”, explains Stacey, “The video captures the lyrics perfectly… it tackles loss, taking charge and using the anger, rage and sadness to triumph over the overwhelming paint that the loss entails… hence detonating.”
Whilst the song and video reflect important issues in our society, it didn’t stop the band from taking time out to have fun on set and inflict ‘crabcore’ on non-believers.
“On the way to the video shoot we discussed how low our guitarists get to the floor during live shows. Sparx (bass) mentioned it was called crabcore and a confused Charlie (Webster, guitar) refused point blank to believe there was such a thing. Like a red rag to a bull this spurred us onto mischief, leading to the band shouting “crab it” during the performance sections and band members having to get as low as physically possible to the floor without taking the soles of their feet off the ground.”
Gravil’s new album ‘No More Forgiveness’ is out now.
Gravil live:
23rd June – Coventry, Arches (w/ Metaprism)
8th July – Burnley, Sanctuary Rock Bar (w/ Metaprism, Today, They Are Older)
14th Aug – Bloodstock Open Air (Sophie Lancaster Stage)
More dates to be announced.
