2017 marks the great return of one of alt metal’s most unique, fast growing bands of the italian wave, THE SHIVER. Today, the band announces their new album, “Adeline”, will be released on April 4th and have unveiled the artwork and track list for their imminent return.
With their first two albums “A New Horizon” and and “The Darkest Hour” , the band started building up their profile as a strong live act touring all over Europe as support band for Papa Roach, God Is an Astronaut, Dead Letter Circus, Tarja and many others, getting enthusiastic response by both media and fans alike for their great energy on stage.
The band is now ready to release their brand new album “Adeline”, where Faith’s stellar voice is enough to make The Shiver attractive and a must listen. The immersive layers of synth and guitar create some impressive soundscapes that permeate all songs.
We hope “Adeline” can stick to your head and keep you coming back again and again.
SÓLSTAFIR have announced their first European tour in support of their forthcoming full-length ‘Beyrdreyminn’ (out May 26th) in June.
The tour will kick off at the Download Festival in Paris on June 10th and afterwards the enigmatic Icelandic rockers will continue to perform in England, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, and France before a final show at the Spanish edition of Download in Madrid on the 24th of June.
SÓLSTAFIR comment on the tour: “We are stoked to be back on the road and doing up ‘n close personal club shows between summer festivals. Some of the small venues are expected to sell out fast – so better get your ticket right away.”
Snovonne is known for her melancholic and psychoanalytic creations, which often reveal things one would rather not see. The new album The Child And The Bitch is exactly that and so much more.
“The concept carries a strong psychoanalytic undertone.” Snovonne says. “It’s about perception, points of view. It’s the battle between two voices – how you were born vs. what the world turns you into. There’s no right or wrong, both the entities have values to stand on, but that doesn’t stop them from clashing… I wanted to give room to both voices.”
The album will be introduced with the super-melancholic “Best Days”. Coming out March 17th, the video presents the album’s concept of duality, musically and visually.
The third official full-length album The Child And The Bitch (subtitled “Chronicles 1984 – 2014”) has been in production since 2015 and is now scheduled for release on April 17th.
“Best Days” Trailer!
With all artistic gears spinning to a maximum, it’s a big leap forward – not only its heavily emotional and expressive content, but also in its audio and visual presentation. Heavy-hitting, stomping riffs are supported by epic, aggressive orchestral arrangements and cut through with razor-sharp melancholy.
Sno´s grandfather was, in his time, a reputable psychiatrist with a passion for fine arts and swing music. That had a significant influence on her artistic life.
She continues: “I’ve always been fascinated by old medical journals and books… Grew up around it, family of doctors… So given the self-analytical tone of the record, it was only natural to make the artwork an old medical journal. The lyrics are my entries with dates when they were written, some of them I wrote when I was very young. As a parallel, I put in old articles from the 20’s, which I scanned from the original personal scrapbook of Dr. Frederick Finch Strong. He was a renowned persona of the last century – promoter of electrotherapy, cutting-edge in developing methods of treatment, and highly esoteric and eccentric. He was the first American to employ Tesla Coils therapeutically.”

Canadian hyperblasters, KATAKLYSM, will celebrate their 25th band anniversary in 2017. In support of this noticeable jubilee, the band will play special shows and bring their classic records »Shadows & Dust« and »Serenity In Fire« on European stages in their entirety.
The band commented:
“It’s hard to think that 25 years have already arrived, feels like yesterday when we were in high school being teen rebels and we started a band called KATAKLYSM, hard to believe that through everything this band has been through, we are still standing tall, but when you really think hard a few words can summon it all: Perseverance, strength, belief and honesty, those were and are the key ingredients for KATAKLYSM success and of course killer anthems who have stood the test of time!
We have taken this moment to stop and reflect and thought we should celebrate this event, as it doesn’t happen often to bands, to still be meaningful to the world and achieve 25 years of career, with this we also noticed that one of our breakthrough albums »Shadows & Dust« will turn 15 years old in 2017, so what better way to send a big thank you back to our fans by revisiting this classic record and its follow up »Serenity In Fire«, two landmarks in KATAKLYSM’s on going blistering career?
We decided to make a special event with select dates and bring this idea to life with a tour called »A Moment In Time: Shadows & Dust vs. Serenity In Fire« where KATAKLYSM will play both albums in their entirety, with a brand new stage show reflecting those two records, for this special occasion KATAKLYSM has invited their old friends in GRAVEWORM from Italy to open up the festivities, who themselves supported KATAKLYSM in Europe and in the US during the »Shadows & Dust« and »Serenity In Fire« campaign era, we are beyond excited for this event, it will be a one time thing for the cities we play it, so don’t miss it, we will not bring it back, so make sure you come out and party with us celebrating our 25th anniversary!”
