Finnish messengers of death, Hautajaisyö released a new single!

From the depths of Finnish melancholy and messenger of death Hautajaisyö (Funeral Night) released a new single on 19.01.2017 and its called “Unohdetut” (the forgotten). This song is the most melodic song they have ever played and the two guitarists play melodic and brutal riffs like never before. With the normal low growling vocals comes more “heavy metal” style clean vocals done by Tomas Ahlroos from Omniversum band. Same man were featuring in the first Hautajaisyö album. Band’s melancholy thrash & melodic death metal has a unique taste in them. Finnish sung vocals are not traditional death metal lyrics. Songs are hard and brutal, but still melodic in many ways. Second song in the single is a cover song from a Finnish hard rock band “Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus” and the long song title mean “62”. Hautajaisyö is making its second album as we speak and the release is scheduled later this year.

Last week, the Finnish kings of epic melodic death, WINTERSUN, unveiled the title of their third studio album »The Forest Seasons« that will see the light of day in 2017 via Nuclear Blast. The new release will be a full-length album of 53 minutes featuring a brand new concept that band leader and mastermind Jari Mäenpää now reveals, together with the complete track list:

Extreme metal giants ARCH ENEMY have now launched a first trailer for their upcoming live DVD/Bluray “As The Stages Burn!” which will be released on March 31st, 2017!

VALLENFYRE: IN THE STUDIO!

Crusty Death/Doom outfit VALLENFYRE have returned to GodCity studio in a frozen Salem, MA to record the follow up to their second album “Splinters” (2014). The new album will be entitled “Fear Those Who Fear Him” and sees the band recording as a three piece for the first time.

Joining stalwarts Gregor Mackintosh (vocals and guitar) and Hamish Glencross (guitar and bass) on the new record is Waltteri Väyrynen (drums) with production duties once again being helmed by Kurt Ballou (Converge, Nails, etc.).

Gregor Mackintosh comments: “12 songs. No samples. No triggers. No bullshit. Instead you get crucifyingly loud amps, ferocious drumming, and vicious vocals spitting out hate and venom. Raw honest brutality. No conformity. No compromise. A murderous nightmare vomiting poisonous bile onto a twisted world. Yeah, that’s the bits I like…”

ONI Unleashes New Music Video for “The Only Cure”, Featuring LAMB OF GOD’s Randy Blythe

2016 was a breakout year for progressive metal band ONI, who proved their lasting prowess with the release of their debut album Ironshore, toured with heavy metal greats such as Max & Iggor Cavalera and Children Of Bodom, tore up the stage at Ozzfest Meets Knotfest with Randy Blythe of Lamb Of God – and last but not least – introduced the heavy metal world to the wonders of “Xylosynth”.

After capping the year with Top 10 “Album of the Year” nods from the likes of Metal Injection, Metal Insider and others, ONI is returning with a brand new music video for one of their most ferocious, groovy tracks, “The Only Cure”, featuring guest vocals from none other than Randy Blythe himself. The music video, directed and edited by Abraham Roofeh, doubles as a petrifying, serial killer-themed horror film – rapidly cutting to scenes of ONI and Blythe setting the soundtrack.

Jake Oni tells Billboard, “[“The Only Cure”] is one of the stronger songs on the album. It’s a good representation of our current sound and where we will be going.”

Guest vocalist Randy Blythe of Lamb Of God adds, “What a super creepy video! Horror fans will love it – the production is Hollywood film-quality. It looks like something out of a SAW or Hostel movie. I had a lot of fun with the ONI guys recording this track, and it’s cool to see the music set to such dramatic scenery. Nightmares…”

Ironshore, which hit stores in November 2016 via Blacklight Media/Metal Blade Records, can be ordered now via www.metalblade.com/oni and/or streamed via Spotify. Ironshore was produced by Josh Wilbur, primarily recognized for his work with top metal artists Lamb Of God and Gojira.

With their influences rooted in progressive metal, ONI‘s sound can be compared to the genre’s heavy hitters – The Human Abstract, Protest The Hero and Between The Buried And Me – yet they remain truly unique.
