Polish black metal icons PATRIARKH (formerly Batushka) embark on a dark and ominous pilgrimage as they unveil the next single from the upcoming concept album, ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ (Lat. PROROK ILJA), out on January 3, 2025 via Napalm Records. Accompanied by an official music video, the new song, entitled “ВЕРШАЛИН IV” (Lat.  WIERSZALIN IV), weaves the sacred-inspired vocals of Eliza Sacharczuk with liturgical melodies, building into a storm of dark choirs and unforgettably intense harsh vocals.

Polish black metal icons PATRIARKH (formerly Batushka) return with a clear and fresh vision as they unveil their new concept album, ПРОРОК ИЛИЯ (Lat. PROROK ILJA), out on January 3, 2025. The Napalm Records debut unveils eight new compositions and immerses the listener in the true story of Eliasz Klimowicz, the titular Prophet Ilja, set in the 1930s and 40s. Following the success of their critically acclaimed album, Hospodi (2019), and relentless touring around the globe, the new band looks towards a bright future! Firmly grounded in Eastern Orthodox traditions and music, PATRIARKH blends black and doom metal with haunting, dark religious concepts.

PATRIARKH, Formerly Batushka, Unveil Brand-New Band Name


Founded in 2018 by mastermind and lead vocalist Bartłomiej “Варфоломей” Krysiuk and propelled by their critically acclaimed album, Hospodi, and relentless touring around the globe, the Polish Orthodox black metal icons formerly known as Batushka have revealed their brand-new band name – PATRIARKH!

Originally founded by Krzysztof Drabikowski in 2015, Batushka released their successful first album, Litourgiya, with vocals handled by Bartłomiej “Варфоломей” Krysiuk. Three years later, the band split up and both parties decided to keep going with the same name, until a legal dispute resulted in Krysiuk recently changing his band’s name.

BATUSHKA and BELPHEGOR are bringing Black Rituals Tour 2021


November 2021, Europe and the United Kingdom will shake from the Black Rituals, a chain of selected shows brought by BATUSHKA and BELPHEGOR. Exactly two years after their last show, BATUSHKA will be returning on stage with their Black Liturgy:
Expect a special spectacle composed of all our releases, and maybe there will be something premiere from the upcoming new album that we are currently working on. Accompanying the shows, we will prepare a limited special release with new songs! This release will be available only during the “Black Rituals” tour. Please note that these songs will not be available in any digital distribution or re-issued later. It will be a one-time opportunity! We’re looking forward to Autumn, and we hope that, together with mighty Belphegor we will perform our Black Rituals that you will not forget for a long time! Be there!
