US prog metallers OCEANS OF SLUMBER are unleashing their fourth self-titled album on September 4th 2020 via Century Media Records. The band have undergone quite a transformation with new members that coincided with the new album bringing a new refreshed and redefined sound in what is their most aspiring and sonically charged release yet. Lyrically the album explores some dark and heavy relatable themes such as grief, depression and general angst of people who have been wronged.

Founding member and drummer of extreme metal icons CHILDREN OF BODOM, Jaska Raatikainen, has announced to join MERCURY CIRCLE, the brand new project by by Iconcrash’s and Swallow the Sun’s Jaani Peuhu.
Being around with CHILDREN OF BODOM for remarkable twenty six years and touring the globe ever since, the band’s enthralling mix of melodic hooks and instrumental acrobatics have solidified them as one of the leading voices of music’s new generation. It has been hard for Jaska Raatikainen to make any strict musical future plans since quitting COB in 2019, but all of this changed when he heard the demos by Peuhu.
On September 25th, The Ocean will release their 8th full-length, Phanerozoic II: Mesozoic | Cenozoic, via Metal Blade Records (CD / digital) and the band’s own Pelagic Records (vinyl). In 2018, The Ocean released Phanerozoic I: Palaeozoic – the first half of a sprawling but superbly cohesive paleontology concept album. Now, the group is ready to release the eagerly-awaited concluding parts of the Phanerozoic journey.
