Gothenburg´s finest are back! THE HALO EFFECT present a brand new single to their fans with ´Become Surrender´. The track has been a staple of their live shows for a while now, and has quickly become a fan-favourite. It´s a multi-faceted song with neck breaking riffs, grooving drums and beautiful melodies which will leave you spellbound.
Mikael Stanne comments: “´Become Surrender´ was written and recorded during the Days Of The Lost sessions, but for some reason we left it out of the album. It has been something we have played during festivals and on our tours and the response has been nothing short of fantastic, so we decided to release it in the interim before we start rolling out singles for the second album. The video was shot during our sold out show at Pustervik here in our hometown of Gothenburg in front of a few of our closest friends and hopefully the joy and love we felt in the room that night shines through. It’s a song about perseverance over distance and not giving in to despair or doubt. Turn it up!”
THE HALO EFFECT’s debut album Days Of The Lost hit the charts all over Europe – #1 in Sweden, #3 in UK, #6 in Germany, Austria and Finland, and #8 in Switzerland. An extensive European tour with MACHINE HEAD and AMON AMARTH followed, as well as numerous festivals and headline shows. While fans are eagerly waiting for the follow up to their mind blowing debut album Days Of The Lost, the band offer up a video for a track that has already become a staple in their live setlist for quite some time, ´The Defiant One´.
Gothenburg sensation THE HALO EFFECT is currently touring through Europe with their fellow countrymen AMON AMARTH and label mates MACHINE HEAD, leaving masses of adoring fans in their wake.
Their debut album Days Of The Lost, released in August, dominated the charts worldwide. Reaching #1 in Sweden, #6 in Germany, Austria and Finland and #8 in Switzerland. The album’s lead single ´Shadowminds´achieved huge success in2022, reaching over 5 million plays across Spotify & YouTube.
Swedish melodic death metal juggernauts THE HALO EFFECT featuring iconic musicians Mikael Stanne, Jesper Strömblad, Niclas Engelin,Peter Iwers and Daniel Svensson have released the footage of their highly acclaimed rooftop gig to the public. The show that originally aired in May was shot on a roof top near the harbour with a phenomenal view over the band’s hometown, Gothenburg, Sweden, and features 4 songs off the band’s chart smashing debut, Days Of The Lost (#1 in their home country, #6 in Germany, Austria and Finnland among others).
Just ahead of their set at the legendary Sweden Rock festival, The Halo Effect have revealed yet another melodic death metal gem. Leading up to the release of their highly anticipated debut album “Days Of The Lost”, to be released on August 12th via Nuclear Blast.
Frontman Mikael Stanne tells about the track: “The Needless End deals with the crippling inability to deal with abstract problems. Issues that just seem too huge or incomprehensible falls by the wayside in order to deal with more immediate but less important issues. We end up somewhere not because we want to but because we were unable to understand what we needed to do. There is an intensity to this song and a uplifting melody that I think suits this idea. Among all the anger and resentment it’s also hopeful and has an infectious groove and drive.”
