Der Weg einer Freiheit stream second new track

DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT are unveiling the second track taken from their forthcoming fourth album, ‘Finisterre’. The new masterpiece of the rising German black metal stars will be released  on August 25th.

Frontman Nikita Kamprad comments on behalf of the band: “We are delighted to present the first half of our full ‘Skepsis’ opus, which is completing the picture that started to emerge, when we premiered ‘Skepsis Part II’ last month. It did not seem a good idea to introduce our new full-length, ‘Finisterre’ with an instrumental, but now its time has come. Instrumentals have always played an important role on our albums and this one makes no exception. ‘Skepsis Part I’ comes with a more complex and progressive composition in comparison with the rather straight-forward and aggressive second part. Although both are separate tracks, we see them as connected and forming one single epic piece. Hopefully, you will like it as much as we do.”

DER WEG EINER FREIHEIT have previously released the artwork and track-list of ‘Finisterre’, which can both be viewed below.

Season of Mist sign DEATHWHITE

Season of Mist are proud to announce the signing of DEATHWHITE. The enigmatic bringers of darkness will release their debut album, ‘For a Black Tomorrow’ via Season of Mist.

The band comments: “We are incredibly honoured to join the Season of Mist roster. DEATHWHITE started in 2012 as a basic studio project with the aim of playing dark metal in the vein of some of our most beloved bands. To have one of metal’s leading independent labels take an interest in us is far beyond our expectations. We now turn our attention to the proper release of our first full-length, ‘For a Black Tomorrow’, and look forward to among other things, our first live performances, and a strong as well as enduring partnership with Season of Mist.”

Check out DEATHWHITE on Bandcamp: https://deathwhite.bandcamp.com/

Formed in 2012, DEATHWHITE were created in part to follow on the path first explored by dark metal torchbearers such as ANATHEMA, KATATONIA, MY DYING BRIDE, and PARADISE LOST.

The band’s ‘Ethereal’ EP (2014) successfully established a template of melodic, clean vocals alongside melancholic, but heavy riffing. Their debut created an early buzz within the metal underground that grew significantly with the following ‘Solitary Martyr’ EP (2015), which was hailed by critics as “thick with emotion” and “wonderfully engrossing.”

Backed by such praise, DEATHWHITE spent 2016 writing and recording their first full-length under the supervision of producer and engineer Shane Mayer. ‘For a Black Tomorrow’ was originally scheduled for release in March of 2017, but after signing to Season of Mist the release has now been slated for early 2018.

Line-up: The band does not provide line-up information.

All-Female Four Piece Band EXIT EDEN Announces Debut Album “Rhapsodies in Black”!

photocredit: Christian Barz
Four musicians from four different countries with four entirely different biographies, yet all stemming from the world of Rock, now united in one band: EXIT EDEN!

The all-female four piece ensemble unites all attributes ascribed to the new millennium: cosmopolitan, self-confident-independent and ready to do their very own thing! Despite their diversity, the four singers Amanda Somerville, Clémentine Delauney, Marina La Torraca and Anna Brunner blend together personally as superbly as they do vocally with their very diverse vocal tones and techniques that go from opera style to raspy rock! This constellation created extraordinary and powerful ideas and finally became their unique plan to raise EXIT EDEN’s very own edge: to show the world that almost every classic song can be transformed into a solid metal-rock song.

EXIT EDEN’s debut “Rhapsodies in Black”, which will be released on August 4 via Napalm Records (worldwide excluding Germany/Switzerland/Austria via Starwatch), is home to a colourful mix of international super hits from Rihanna to Madonna, from Depeche Mode to Adele, and many more! Still and all, it’s miles away from being just a cover album. A first video will present a grand entrance very soon! Stay tuned for more updates on EXIT EDEN!

Who the musicians are:

Amanda Somerville:
Amanda is a rock-solid authority of the music scene: both as a solo artist and sharing success and the stage with bands like AVANTASIA, EPICA and KAMELOT. Though her US-American roots are based in Pop & Rock, she fell in love with the Metal scene and made it her home. She has toured with Alice Cooper, Ian Gillan and many more legends with her commanding voice and fronts the projects TRILLIUM and Kiske Somerville (with HELLOWEEN icon Michael Kiske). All of this, combined with her wide range of experience, grants her a unique edge and a permanent address in the Metal world.

Anna Brunner:
A natural talent, Anna began singing at a very young age. As a daughter of a German father and an American mother, she grew up bilingual and founded her first Rock band as a teenager. Due to a music study that lead her through different parts of the world, she garnered a multitude of experience and it became crystal clear to her: music has to rock – and vocals need to be emotional – just like a passionate scream.

Marina La Torraca:
Hailing from Brazil, Marina was born with rhythm in her blood. As the auspicious frontwoman of several Metal bands since the age of 15, her path led her to Europe, where she got to perform with AVANTASIA and to found her up-and-coming band, PHANTOM ELITE. Since having studied musical theater in New York, the versatile singer and actress can also be seen internationally in musical productions, including the upcoming German tour of the Broadway-Hit, RENT. For her, being close to the crowd is what counts – no problem for her and her natural convincing character.

Clémentine Delauney:
Clémentine was born near Paris 30 years ago. She has been a multi talent since her childhood days – no matter if she was dancing, playing the piano or singing – she enchanted her audience. At the age of 16, she joined her first Metal band, she is currently fronting Symphonic Metal outfit VISIONS OF ATLANTIS and also worked with SERENITY and MELTED SPACE. Another one of her career highlights is her participation on Kai Hansen’s (HELLOWEEN, GAMMA RAY) first solo album, released in 2016. Thus, Clémentine has carved her way into being one of the great performers of the scene.

DECREPIT BIRTH premiere lyric video for new song “Hieroglyphic”

U.S. techincal death metallers DECREPIT BIRTH have revealed a second new single from their upcoming album, “Axis Mundi”. The song is titled “Hieroglyphic” and its lyric video can be watched here:

The previously revealed single, “Epigenetic Triplicity”, can be listened to HERE.

Formed in 2001, DECREPIT BIRTH released three studio album’s to date, which got them a premiere spot on the death metal radar. Their music, infused with technical and progressive twists, managed to forge a very solid international fan base, and continues to forge their path into the future, as one of the genre’s finest bands. Awakening from a seven-year slumber, the Californians fourth offering is entwined with musical athleticism and characteristic esoteric themes. “Axis Mundi” is as crushing as it is cosmic.

“We’ve gone through an evolution throughout the years” says founding member and primary songwriter Matt Sotelo. “The last couple of albums we had, Diminishing Between Worlds and Polarity, were more progressive death metal. They were different from …And Time Begins, which is a different genre of death metal. It’s more brutal. I’m the type of guy who likes to experiment. …And Time Begins has no solos. It’s all really fast palm-muted riffs. The other albums breathed more with the guitars. I let chords ring out on Diminishing Between Worlds and Polarity. Axis Mundi is combination of all the stuff I’m into. I like it a lot right now. It’s more melodic. The riffs repeat intentionally. I want to have fun with these songs”.
