After their triumphant return to the stage last year in the form of their Somewhere Far Beyond Tour across Germany, the breath-taking story of Blind Guardian‘s latest masterpiece The God Machine goes on. Today, the metal legends have announced some new tour dates in 2024 across the UK and Ireland.
Blind Guardian are thrilled to be able to finally present some of their new songs to their fans, showcasing the likes of astounding tracks ‘Deliver Us From Evil‘, ‘Violent Shadows‘and introducing them to the ’Secrets of the American Gods‘.
While the last riff storms were still being cast over the holy ground at this year’s event, Wacken revealed the first preview of the 33rd edition of the Wacken Open Air and one thing we can promise you! It will be magical!
The number 33 is not only a magic number but also quantifies for the first time this year the number of bands we will unleash in the first band wave.
In 2024 we will transform the Holy Ground into a mystical playground – supported by all kinds of legends from the sagas of heavy metal!
The first band wave will be led by some legendary companions who have already graced us several times at the W:O:A:
Mysteries darken the skies, and only the bravest dare to lift the veil between mere mortals and the ominous forces lurking in the night. Blind Guardian have tracked down the ‘Secrets Of The American Gods’ and reveal their eponymous new single.
The powerful, majestic new track comes with a performance video that was filmed during the recording of the band’s new album in the Twilight Hall Studios between March 2020 and 2021. The masterfully arranged artwork for the single was created by Andrea Christen.
After celebrating the anniversary of the 1995 classic “Imaginations From The Other Side”, on December 18th, 2021 German metal stars BLIND GUARDIAN present you a special treat for Xmas as vocalist Hansi Kuersch explains: “In my opinion, Slade created the ultimate Christmas song with ‘Merry Xmas Everybody’, a timeless, jolly tune with the perfect dose of cheesiness and almost untouchable in its greatness. Usually, it is prohibited in the Kuersch household to play Christmas songs prior to the Advent season, but as it’s mid-November now, and I am just out of the studio doing this cover, I guess I’m breaking a tradition. What you are about to hear now, is our attempt at paying tribute to the glam rock Santa Clauses Slade and while the original version is just perfect, its chorus was tailor-made for Blind Guardian as we do understand quite well how to go big. So, why have sausages with potato salad when you can have the Xmas goose? Well, check it out yourselves and Merry Xmas Everybody!“
Early this August just gone, BLIND GUARDIAN performed live for the Wacken World Wide digital festival, and surprised everybody by playing a brand-new track called ‘Violent Shadows’. The song is a very first taster of their upcoming studio album, due to be released in autumn 2021. ‘Violent Shadows’ (live) is available digitally now.

DAWN OF DISEASE’s sound is determined by abrasiveness and melody, where subliminal harmonies and killer riffs are accompanied by rapid blastbeats and pounding doublebass. Tomasz’s vocals are a cross between dark growlings, aggressive screams and in-your-face shouting. Although a big number of typical Swedish elements can still be found, DAWN OF DISEASE are more than able to add an their own style beyond these bounds and are ready to enthrall Metal On The Hill Festival!

Irish Pagan Scottish Pirate Metal PRIMORDIAL, Scottish outfit ALESTORM, Melodic Metal conjurers INSOMNIUM, Pagan giants ARKONA and Brazil`s tribal female thrash power trio NERVOSA will be on the bill performing exclusive Austrian festival shows as well. ROTTING CHRIST will bring the black cult to the hill with a very special old school set and popular Symphonic Metal acts SERENITY and VISIONS OF ATLANTIS will round out the bill together with EBONY ARCHWAYS and PAIN IS, both local metal band hailing from the Metal On The Hill hometown Graz.
