Romania’s BLOODWAY will release a new album on 3rd November 2017. The video of “Midlight Scout”,the first single coming from the album “A Fragile Riddle Crypting Clues” is out now!

Romania’s BLOODWAY cement their relationship with I, Voidhanger Records by releasing “A Fragile Riddle Crypting Clues”, the closing chapter of a trilogy which started in 2014 with the “Sunstone Voyager And The Clandestine Horizon” EP and continued the following year with the band’s first full-length, “Mapping The Moment With The Logic Of Dreams”. Lead by Costin Chioreanu, one of the most celebrated graphic artists within today’s metal field, BLOODWAY blend black metal, progressive metal, heavy rock and psychedelia in equal parts, forging a very peculiar style that revolves around deep emotions and dark inner visions, exactly like Chioreanu’s surreal art. “In this new chapter the same character from the previous albums returns to the world of humans, but with a different and larger perspective, animated by his experiences and mental transformations,” Chioreanu explains. “The world is nothing but a prison, with virtual walls risen from the controlled collective intellect, where all the prisoners are locked in by themselves. Everyone is free to go and live outside the so-called system, but nobody really wants to leave the cells for the unknown.” It’s a concept made of disenchantment and melancholy, and yet the album is more aggressive than BLOODWAY’s past material, as well as extremely dark. “In this prison, our character buries his achieved illusions about humanity and rediscovers memories from childhood,” Chioreanu continues; “he is attacked by chimeras, fears imposed by will, but at the same time he reaches illumination by simply accepting reality in it’s complete and horribly deceiving splendor. So he realizes that everything is nothing but a matter of perception.” From the
lyrical perspective, “A Fragile Riddle Crypting Clues” is BLOODWAY’s most introspective record, one that truly investigates Costin Chioreanu’s spirit, as underlined by two intense spoken words recited by Tomas Lindberg (At The Gates) and Mat McNerney (Hexvessel). “I never spoke straight about my personal experiences and personal life the way I am doing now,” he says. “I felt truly free and confident with myself doing this record, and that fueled its specific nature. I think our goal as aband was to bring into this world a very special record, by all means. I am deeply confident that we succeeded.”

INTERVIEW: King Leviathan (UK)

by Carina Lawrence/ Dark Art conspiracy

Blackened Thrash Metallers King Leviathan from Brighton, UK have been building the cult-like following since their formation in 2014 after the release of their critically acclaimed 2015 E.P ‘The Shrine’, spreading their “Black Mass” to Bloodstock Open Air, local festival Mammothfest as well as touring and sharing the stage with the likes of Darkest Hour, Abhorrent Decimation, Meta-Stasis and more. Their mass continues to spread as in August this year they unleashed their highly anticipated debut album, ‘Paean Heretica’ via new label Infernum Records who they just signed with. There is lots going on for this metal quartet right now, so we caught up with vocalist/guitarist Adam Sedgwick to discuss their new album, the label, their origins, what lies ahead for the future and more.

Can you tell us about your formation in 2014 and how you arrived at the name of King Leviathan?

Our formation was pretty simple to be honest! Rob and I (Adam) Had been in a couple of projects before King Leviathan started, and a lot of them we’re hard rock based or Metalcore influenced. As much as we enjoyed them, when those projects dissolved we decided we wanted to do something that was straight up Sylosis and Slayer worship! Then Sam asked to join the band as he wanted to start playing metal again and we found Danny at a gig after seeing him playing drums with some bands at College – we asked him to join and then the rest is history!

The name was pretty easy as well, I had a solo project when I was living in Northampton called Crown I, Leviathan and I hadn’t used it for about 2 years by the time I started writing the first EP. I changed the name up to King Leviathan to give it a change, and that’s how it came about!

How would you describe your sound?

It’s a whole amalgamation of sound, cause we’re all influenced by very different music! But the easiest way to describe it would be cold, dark and aggressive.

Drudkh and Paysage d’Hiver stream split-EP

Ukrainian black metal veterans DRUDKH and Swiss underground one-man act PAYSAGE D’HIVER (out on Prophecy) will release their limited 12″ split-EP ‘Somewhere Sadness Wanders / Schnee (IV)’ worldwide today, August 25th.

The complete split-EP is now exclusively streaming via Invisible Oranges (US).

The artwork of ‘Somewhere Sadness Wanders / Schnee (IV)’ can be viewed together with the track-list of the split-EP below.
Tracklist
1. DRUDKH – All Shades Of Silence (12:54)
2. DRUDKH – The Night Walks Towards Her Throne (8:08)
3. PAYSAGE D’HIVER – Schnee IV (19:51)

DRUDKH release their next split-EP. The Ukrainian underground black metal veterans collaborate with the Swiss atmospheric black metal project PAYSAGE D’HIVER this time.

Mastermind Roman Sayenko continues to draw his lyrical inspiration from Ukrainian poets. “All Shades Of Silence” derives from the writings of Yevhen Pluzhnyk (1898-1936), who died in a Stalinist gulag. His contemporary Maik Yohansen (1895-1937), who penned the words in “The Night Walks Towards Her Throne” shared a similar fate by being murdered with the guns of a Soviet firing squad.

Both tracks clearly show Roman Sayenko’s musical handwriting by perfectly blending raw harshness, epic melodies and a touch of folklore into black metal masterpieces.

With their latest full-length ‘A Furrow Cut Short’ (2015), DRUDKH continued on the dark and bleak course charted with previous release ‘Eternal Turn of the Wheel’ (2012). In an ever-evolving metamorphosis, DRUDKH have regularly returned to their early legacy from the Nordic Black Metal inspired debut ‘Forgotten Legends’ (2003) as well as the cinematic soundscapes of ‘Autumn Aurora’ (2004) and the traditional influences of ‘The Swan Road’ (2005). On ‘Blood in Our Wells’ (2006) progressive elements surfaced, while after the instrumental and partly acoustic ‘Songs of Grief and Solitude’ (2006) a sharp contrast was created by the harshly black ‘Estrangement’ (2007). ‘Microcosmos’ (2009) seemed to tie up the different strands of DRUDKH‘s previous releases, before embarking on a quest to more outlying progressive realms with ‘Handful of Stars’ (2010), which led Roman Sayenko to found OLD SILVER KEY, joined by ALCEST vocalist Neige. The band’s mastermind has often penned his own lyrics, but also continuously rediscovered forgotten poets of his home country. With similar intentions but musically closer to their original band, members of DRUDKH including Roman Sayenko released an album entitled, ‘The Great Cold Steppe’ (March, 2017) using the name WINDSWEPT.

DRUDKH insist to be understood through their music alone and do not provide any kind of promotion. DRUDKH do therefore not release any pictures, nor give interviews, or perform live.
