“The Matriarch” is also the brand new track and music video off of UNLEASH THE ARCHERS’ upcoming album Apex. The album marks the tenth anniversary of UNLEASH THE ARCHERS! These heavy metal heroes are celebrating this honor with an exhilarating feast on their fourth masterpiece – out on June 2nd via Napalm Records!

“This track is chapter three in the story, and in it we are introduced to our antagonist “The Matriarch” in all her malevolent glory. We call this one our “quick banger” because it’s fast, catchy, and fun, and hopefully it won’t take long to learn the words! It is sung from an omniscient point of view, drawing the listener in with tales of The Matriarch’s depravity. The best part is the bridge, because the song is so dark, and then it launches into this flowing wraithlike guitar melody that is so memorable, I sing along to it every time and I think the fans will too! “Kingslayer is a song about Jaime Lannister’s betrayal of his oath, which earned him that very nickname across the Seven Kingdoms. The Mad King was ready to blow up all of Kings Landing with stocks of wildfire hidden under the streets, rather than face defeat to Robert’s rebellion. Having already seen enough atrocities committed by the king, Jaime could not stand by any longer with the lives of the entire city at stake. He murdered the Mad King, the one his life was sworn to protect. Instead of becoming a hero, this betrayal would be how history remembered Jaime Lannister.”

While Italian Metal icons LACUNA COIL are celebrating their 20 year anniversary it is time to open another chapter in the relationship between the band and their long-term label: LACUNA COIL have just signed a new deal with Century Media Records.

Antje Lange, General Manager International of Century Media Records: “Century Media Records is very happy that LACUNA COIL have renewed their contract with us and we are very much looking forward to the next albums of this exceptional Italian band.
