With their second album, “The Longed-For Reckoning”, FALL OF CARTHAGE prove their intentions are serious. After numerous live shows within the last few months, it’s clear this is not just a sideproject of Arkadius Antonik ( Official SuidAkrA , Realms of Odoric) and Martin Buchwalter ( Perzonal War ), who pulled Sascha Aßbach in front of the mic after a long absence from the music scene.

Sixteen songs represent a genre-defying creativity and joy for experimentation, as well as, their love for detail and natural sounds. Those who expect programmed blast-beats and typical Thrash or Metalcore structures will be in for a surprise. What you get is much more.

Their sound can be described somewhere between groove metal, hardcore and rap without having the feeling of simply throwing sounds together. The versatility of Sascha’s vocals is convincing in its full spectrum. Thanks to the solid and elaborate songwriting that all band members were involved in from the beginning, the new tracks are catchy without getting boring.

FOC have grown together musically, and so “The Longed-For Reckoning” will surely be a highlight for 2017.

Like the debut, “Behold,” this album was produced at Gernhart Studio in#Troisdorf, and promises a fat ass sound with superb mixing. Be on the lookout for “The Longed-For Reckoning”.

To shorten the waiting time WARBRINGER unleashes the first ripping track from Woe to the Vanquished today! The band are more than proud to release the first song and music video, “Silhouettes”, directed by Orie McGinness (Enlighten Creative Studio) and produced by Shan Dan Horen (Shadow Born Group).

Check out the exclusive music video premiere HERE!http://decibelmagazine.com/blog/2017/1/18/warbringer-premiere-video-for-silhouettes
John Kevill gives a deeper insight into the first song “Silhouettes”:

This song, the album opener, is a blazing and intense number; we wanted the album to open with pure annihilation. I had the lyric in my head and the frantic riff under the verse since the beginning of 2014, and I am very pleased that it exists as a full song now.

The idea for the song came from a particularly chilling detail found at Hiroshima and Nagasaki; when the atomic bombs went off the shadows of people whose bodies were vaporized still remain burned onto the walls and the ground where they once stood. To me, this is goddamn horrifying. I thought – “What if the souls of those dead remain trapped in the shadows?” I wanted to have the song written from a future where civilization has failed, the Earth is in ruins and the few remaining survivors live a horrible existence. The untold millions of shadows from this future, burnt into stone, look back at us in the present time and judge us for bringing about the apocalypse that, though we saw it coming, we did nothing to avoid.

The way I see it, we continue funding weaponry that keeps getting more and more devastating (search “satan-2” if you think this issue is some relic), and leadership seems on a sharp downward trend as well. Not the ingredients for a positive outcome. Remember, it only takes one mistake, once, and everything everyone has ever built, written, painted, all music, all culture, every ounce of human achievement is gone, in a single blinding flash. Like it or not, this is the world we live in today, and entering 2017 the delicate balance tips and sways more and more.
So, Happy New Year. Enjoy the time we have left, and fucking thrash. Woe to the Vanquished.
We’re Ghosts!

Woe to the Vanquished has been carefully crafted over period of time, and the album was produced and mixed by Mike Plottnikoff (Fear Factory, In Flames), mastered by Howie Weinberg (Slayer, Pantera) with cover art by the esteemed Andreas Marschall (Sodom, Blind Guardian, Obituary).

Finnish messengers of death, Hautajaisyö released a new single!

Finnish messengers of death, Hautajaisyö released a new single!

From the depths of Finnish melancholy and messenger of death Hautajaisyö  (Funeral Night) released a new single on 19.01.2017 and its called “Unohdetut” (the forgotten). This song is the most melodic song they have ever played and the two guitarists play melodic and brutal riffs like never before. With the normal low growling vocals comes more “heavy metal” style clean vocals done by Tomas Ahlroos from Omniversum band. Same man were featuring in the first Hautajaisyö album. Band’s melancholy thrash & melodic death metal has a unique taste in them. Finnish sung vocals are not traditional death metal lyrics. Songs are hard and brutal, but still melodic in many ways. Second song in the single is a cover song from a Finnish hard rock band “Timo Rautiainen & Trio Niskalaukaus”  and the long song title mean “62”. Hautajaisyö is making its second album as we speak and the release is scheduled later this year.
