“Santa Claus” is the One Horse Band‘s first single from the forthcoming album due for release in 2023 via Go Down Records. Recorded at Dream House Studios in Toronto, produced and mixed by Dave Schiffman (two-time winner at Grammy Awards and well known for his long collaboration with Rick Rubin), the track breaks a three-year hiatus and shows a marked evolution in the One Horse Band‘s sound, which is now more layered and refined than in the past. The use of synthesizers, acoustic guitars and percussion works together with the basic setup of every one man band. All this matches perfectly with the dreamy lyrics that give the listener full freedom of interpretation. “Santa Claus” is a wonderful contemporary fairy tale, speaking of oppression, freedom and rising to parallel worlds in which to finally feel at ease.

ENSLAVED release ‘Caravans to the Outer Worlds’ single/live video
Left-field metal luminaries Enslaved have revealed a single and video for ‘Caravans to the Outer Worlds (Live from The Otherworldly Big Band Experience)‘. The track, which comes from their forthcoming new studio album Heimdal (out March 3rd), as well as last year’s EP of the same name, sees an innovative, alternative live recording and stellar presentation of the song, with nuanced accompaniment from fellow psychedelic Norwegian prog band Shaman Elephant.

December 17, 2022 Shape of Despair and Counting Hours played an iconic gig at Olympia Kortteli in Tampere, Finland.
Counting Hours warmed the night up, or chilled it down with pounding melodic doom. Followed by an intense 2 hours of funeral doom, including Shape of Despair’s newest release Return to the Void in its entirety, plus an array of songs from their earlier albums. It was the perfect way to welcome the darkest week of the year.
