Performing at the  Holy Ground in 2024 will be Metal institution Accept, the Norwegian steamhammer Bokassa, L.A. rock god Don Dokken and his band, the Dutch firestarters Dear Mother and Alligatoah, who will show us how much Rap can be in Metal and vice versa.

Advent Advent – ​​and the first candle burns! What this means for the Wacken Metalhead is pretty clear: W:O:A has revealed its first December-Sunday band announcements!  To go in with a bang, we present to you two heavyweight champions.

Both Testament and Armored Saint will be joining us back on the field and everyone can probably agree that both bands were able to absolutely smash their Holy Ground gigs every time.

Wacken Open Air Adds New Bands on Black Friday!


While some people are enjoying Black Friday today, it’s actually “Black Everyday” for most of our Wacken Metalheads!

And we know that at the end of the day, no discount can make you happier than a new batch of bands. Hence, we are presenting five new line-up additions that are sure to make your dark hearts beat faster.

First and foremost is warlock Dani Filth, who is visiting us with his eerily chic demon-gang Cradle Of Filth. For 30 years, they have been wheezing, shrieking, crowing on stages and constantly smudging the boundaries between Black, Symphonic and Death Metal with black corpse paint.

THE FIRST 33 BANDS FOR THE 33RD WACKEN OPEN AIR ANNOUNCED + W:O:A 2024 SELLS OUT IN RECORD TIME!


While the last riff storms were still being cast over the holy ground at this year’s event, Wacken revealed the first preview of the 33rd edition of the Wacken Open Air and one thing we can promise you! It will be magical!

The number 33 is not only a magic number but also quantifies for the first time this year the number of bands we will unleash in the first band wave.

In 2024 we will transform the Holy Ground into a mystical playground – supported by all kinds of legends from the sagas of heavy metal!

AMARANTHE announce new studio album ‘The Catalyst’ at Wacken Open Air
