U.S. techincal death metallers DECREPIT BIRTH have revealed a second new single from their upcoming album, “Axis Mundi”. The song is titled “Hieroglyphic” and its lyric video can be watched here:

Formed in 2001, DECREPIT BIRTH released three studio album’s to date, which got them a premiere spot on the death metal radar. Their music, infused with technical and progressive twists, managed to forge a very solid international fan base, and continues to forge their path into the future, as one of the genre’s finest bands. Awakening from a seven-year slumber, the Californians fourth offering is entwined with musical athleticism and characteristic esoteric themes. “Axis Mundi” is as crushing as it is cosmic.
“We’ve gone through an evolution throughout the years” says founding member and primary songwriter Matt Sotelo. “The last couple of albums we had, Diminishing Between Worlds and Polarity, were more progressive death metal. They were different from …And Time Begins, which is a different genre of death metal. It’s more brutal. I’m the type of guy who likes to experiment. …And Time Begins has no solos. It’s all really fast palm-muted riffs. The other albums breathed more with the guitars. I let chords ring out on Diminishing Between Worlds and Polarity. Axis Mundi is combination of all the stuff I’m into. I like it a lot right now. It’s more melodic. The riffs repeat intentionally. I want to have fun with these songs”.

Devin Townsend Project have been on the road touring for the majority of 2017 in support of latest album ‘Transcendence’, and recently began a run of Summer live dates including Download Festival this past weekend.
Yesterday Devin attended the Metal Hammer Golden Gods ceremony in London, where he was named ‘Riff Lord’, an award previously given to the likes of Dave Mustaine, Brian May and Phil Campbell. To celebrate, a brand new lyric video for the track ‘Offer Your Light’, taken from ‘Transcendence’, is available to see here:
Devin had this to say: “Hey all! Well heck, I guess I won an award for being a guitar guy…sweet! All those years of social ineptitude has manifested in an ability to play 32nd notes. Take that, dad! …to celebrate, we are doing a ‘lyric video’ for a track I had been encouraged to release when the album first came out, but decided to go with another one instead. As it turns out, people seem to really like this song, so have at ‘er! Here’s a kind of rockin, kind of straightforward track from Transcendence called ‘Offer Your Light’, written essentially about trying to look at the positive amidst the ever increasing sea of neurosis-inducing bullshit the world keeps spewing at us. I’m in the beginning stages of writing new music now, and I hope this finds a home in your listening world for the next 4 minutes or so…best part is; there’s no guitar solo! May 1, 2017 – Heavy Electro Rocker and one of Revolver’s Hottest Chicks in MetalMoscow has released the Official Music Video for the title track along with her debut EP, Queen of Sin, which was originally premiered on Revolver.
The tracks on Queen of Sin were created with support from Producers Shawn McGhee (Hideout Studios – Hellyeah, Five Finger Death Punch, Papa Roach), Brian Steele-Medina (Gemini Syndrome), Hatebreed, Escape The Fate),and upcoming Boston Producers OH NO! ØKTAPUS.
I had a lot of fun writing and recording Queen Of Sin – our first EP that comes out June 2nd. It has a nice diversity of rock subgenres – you can find some post-hardcore, nu-metal, alternative tunes in it. ‘QoS’ is a sort of defial for those who say rock and sex can’t go together. “Make Rock Sexy Again.” We wanted to get a mix of hard rock tunes and guitar riffs with sensual feminine vocals and dominatrix attitude. – Moscow
