Coming off their first international tour of India (tour diary on Decibel Magazine here) and performing their local Edmonton CD release show last month for their new EP ‘The Forever Lie’.ALL ELSE FAILS confirm they will be joining the 2017 LOUD AS HELL festival line up in Drumheller, AB that includes Battlecross, Bison, Black Wizard, Aggression and more. AEF’s set will be on the second day of the festival on Saturday, August 5th with their set time at 9pm local time. Full Line up and set times can be found here. Nighon released a new video with a strong message!

Nighon released a second single “The Dirge” from their upcoming album “The Somme” which is released May 5th 2017 by Inverse Records.

“We have released a new video with a strong message. The song “The Dirge” raises the question: “Why do we have wars?”. They are horrible and the majority of mankind seems to despise it. The song was inspired by the annexation of Crimea, the Vietnam war and the Korean war. Björn: “The lyrics I wrote tells us about the consequences of letting our hate spin out of control, and when governments twist lies into truths to justify war!”

 

Their first single/music video “The Greatest of Catastrophes” is a blend of the outbreak of World War I and the Ukraine crisis. The music video was filmed during the winter 2016 by Kasper Dalkarl, David Viklund and Stephanie Blomqvist. Listen to it on Spotify.

Groundbreaking art-rock performer, author and spoken word artist OTEP shook things up at SXSW this past weekend by dropping her latest artistic protest of mounting regressive political actions. OTEP took a further stand for equal rights with the world premiere of her empowering new music video for the heavy, rap-influenced track “Equal Rights Equal Lefts”.
Fans at Colours Couture’s SXSW fashion showcase presented by 3Thirteen Entertainment Group this weekend were treated to the video (directed by Aleks Rastovic) for the first time during OTEP‘s headlining set. The “Equal Rights Equal Lefts” video and track further solidify OTEP‘s diligent quest for equality: “I wrote this song to celebrate and empower all people to live their authentic selves, to live their truth, and to fight for their right to exist. Hailing from Atlanta, Georgia, Gunpowder Gray deal a concentrated dose of rock and roll that is as potent as it gets.

“Premonition”, the band’s second offering boasts a stripped down, tough-as-nails, four-piece that has truly found its stride. Massive guitar riffs harken back to an era when Marshall full-stacks were cranked up high and loudness was revered. Razor sharp hooks incite sing-along choruses within songs that are equal parts punk in aggression and heavy metal in sheer power. Short and to the point, you will want to leave “Premonition” on repeat. This release is issued on cassette, limited to 200, with 100 casings in black and 100 in white. For fans of Motörhead, Danzig, and Thin Lizzy.

“20 Cycles Back” is a one-of-a-kind cassette edition, a material which was
recorded live in the Bloodway’s rehearsal room. Bloodway is Costin
Chioreanu’s dark metal band and the cassette in question was recorded
through the medium of the same cassette player which Costin used 20 years
ago in order to record his demos. The cover is also created by him and the
same old-fashioned manner was employed. The artwork is drawn in black ink
on white paper and it was cut and folded so that will fit the tape case.
