DIVINITY Announce Alberta Tour w/ Expain + Posts New Videos “The Reckoning” & “Lucid Creator”

Calgary, AB progressive death metal band DIVINITY announces they will be embarking on a dual album release Alberta tour with Vancouver, BC’s EXPAIN. The tour will be in promotion of DIVINITY recently released album “The Immortalist” along with EXPAIN supporting their forthcoming EP “Pinching Nerves”. The one week tour will be kicking off in Innisfail, AB on September 21st and wrap up in Banff, AB on September 26th (full dates listed below).

DIVINITY‘s “The Immortalist” is a culmination of 5 years of hard work and dedication to their craft. The album features 12 tracks that include their two previous EP releases “The Immortalist, Pt. 1 – Awestruck” and “The Immortalist, Pt. 2 –Momentum” with their 3rd EP “The Immortalist Pt. 3 – Conqueror” now completed to finish off the trilogy series as one huge full length album. All the tracks on the album are re-mixed and re-mastered by the talented Chris Donaldson (Cryptopsy, The Grid Productions) to make the songs more cohesive and work as a full-length experience. This album also features Bjorn ‘Speed’ Strid of Soilwork on vocals for the song ‘D.M.T.’.

Album order available on Divinity.ca, iTunes or Amazon plus an exclusive digipak CD available on their website for those who like to support the band directly. The digipak CD contains a 24-page booklet that showcases this entire concept giving fans way a full physical experience to the story, songs, lyrics, and visual aspect of the new album.

THE GREAT OLD ONES have released a play-through video featuring drummer Léo Isnard for the track “When the Stars Align” via Sick Dummer Magazine, which provides more details and can be viewed at the link below.

Léo Isnard comments: “Not counting the interludes, this is the shortest track of our new album. For me, it represents a perfect synthesis of all that I like to play in this band: doom parts, blast beats, and some space to add a more personal touch. And of course, nothing is better than those fast blast beats before the end of this song!”

The French cultists have previously painted the glorious horrors and eldritch pleasures contained on their new full-length ‘EOD – A Tale Of Dark Legacy’ into the murky shape of a lyric video directed and produced by Hugo Aribart based on the artwork of Jeff Grimal. Septicflesh stream second new album track as lyric video

The Greek masters of symphonic death metal SEPTICFLESH are releasing a lyric video for the second new song taken from their forthcoming tenth full-length, ‘Codex Omega’, which has been scheduled for release on September 1st.

SEPTICFLESH comment on ‘3rd Testament: “As the release date of our new album is getting closer, it is only appropriate to introduce you to the song that revolves around the main theme, ‘3rd Testament’ (Codex Omega). So, behold the anti-bible. Listen to the sutras of the 3rd and final book in the divine drama series…”

Bent Knee launch animated video for ‘Time Deer’

Bent Knee have unveiled their gripping music video for ‘Time Deer’. The video and song are a stunning depiction and commentary on our ever-changing and strained relationship with technology and our environment, just one of the many themes discussed on band’s critically-acclaimed album Land Animal.

The director Riki Nitabaru comments: “Before I began working on the animation, I spent some time thinking about how to portray the song’s story in visuals. The story centers around a deer that travels through time, trying to find the cause of humanity’s problems in the modern world. I thought it would be too dull to draw that up literally, so I interpreted the story in my own way to add some flare.

In my take, just as the deer finds the cause of all strife, the world starts to cleanse itself. The deer becomes a receptacle of all living things, and it morphs to become a brand new being that encompasses all life forms.

Since I had this storyboard in my mind, putting together the production was like a simple puzzle. There were times where I was unsure what to draw for specific moments of the song. But, I found inspiration in the drama portrayed in the music, and was able to create something better than I first imagined.

I hope this video enhances your enjoyment of Bent Knee!”

Bent Knee formed in 2009 as a democratic collective determined to push the boundaries of pop and rock. Lead singer and keyboardist Courtney Swain’s soaring vocals are instantly arresting. Guitarist Ben Levin is one of the most dynamic and versatile guitarists around, shifting between the raging and raucous to the sublime and meditative. Bassist Jessica Kion and drummer Gavin Wallace-Ailsworth combine into an enthralling rhythm section that’s equal parts powerhouse and nuance. SATYRICON – Unveil First Details Aabout Brand New Album ‘Deep calleth upon Deep’!

Nearly three years in the making, SATYRICON have announced that ‘Deep calleth upon Deep’, their highly anticipated ninth studio album, is set for release on 22nd September via Napalm Records.

Recorded in Oslo, Norway and Vancouver, Canada, during early 2017 and mixed together with revered studio guru Mike Fraser (who previously worked on SATYRICON’s 2006 album, ‘Now, Diabolical’), ‘Deep calleth upon Deep’ is not just a new collection of songs from one of extreme music’s most enduring and reliable bands: this is a wholesale reinvention and a brand new era in SATYRICON history.

Frontman and visionary, Satyr informs us “Approaching this release, what I always kept in mind is that either this is the beginning of something new or it’s gonna be my last record. If this is going to be the last, then it needs to be something special. If there are more records, then I’d better make sure that this is so different from the last one that it feels like a new beginning. I think it’s really, really dark, very spiritual and filled with confidence and energy.”

‘Deep calleth upon Deep’ is a profound statement about the essence of SATYRICON’s music and the eternal value of art itself. Satyr continues, “The way that I see it is that for any art, be it SATYRICON or any other form of art with substance, in order for you to be able to inhale and completely understand it, it will take a little bit of you as well. If you get it all after a couple of listens, you know that it probably won’t stay with you. So the title is saying, ‘From the depth of the people making this record to the depth of the listener…’ If you want to take part in this journey, you should be prepared to dig deep down in the darkest corner of your soul with us.”

SATYRICON is also proud to share the album’s front cover – an obscure drawing from 1898 by perhaps the greatest Norwegian artist of all time, Edvard Munch.

Shiraz Lane touring in Europe w Brother Firetribe this Fall!

New Shiraz Lane material coming up later this year

Finnish young rock dynamite Shiraz Lane will return to European venues in October and November 2017, supporting their great fellow countrymen Brother Firetribe, who are celebrating their 15th anniversary this year!

Shiraz Lane´s been working on their 2nd album in Stockholm for the whole year with a Swedish songwriter/ producer Per Aldeheim (Def Leppard, Pain, Fatboy, Soilwork…). The album will be out in early 2018, and the guys are super happy about both with their results in the studio and these upcoming Fall live dates:

“We are extremely excited to join forces and support Brother Firetribe through Europe during the upcoming Autumn of 2017. It will be a pleasure to revisit some of the awesome venues and embrace the atmosphere we were so warmly welcomed on our last tour, and are thrilled to bring our caravan to new destinations for your eyes and ears to witness. You might even have an exclusive chance to hear some new material we have been working so hard on throughout the year. Perhaps we might even release a single before the leaves fall from the trees? Time will tell..!”

Shiraz Lane will continue the album´s vocal recordings in Gröndahl Studios in this month and will play live this Summer still in Üferrock (DE), Summer Breeze (DE) and Hair Metal Heaven (UK), before focusing on the European tour, beginning on the 11th of October.
