Mammothfest Reveal Official Trailers For 2017 & 2019 Goals

Those who have attended Mammothfest before will know the kind of carnage that follows on each day at the festival. For those who have never been before, you can now get a taste of what to expect across the weekend as Mammothfest has unveiled footage from previous events.

There are four videos to watch, from the “weekend” video with a preview of everything you can experience at Mammothfest over the three days, to the separate videos of daily themed footage.

This includes the Friday, which is the “Black Metal Day”, headlined by Rotting Christ. The Saturday, headlined by Fleshgod Apocalypse, a day packed with a variety of extreme styles in metal. Finally, the Sunday “Doom Metal Day”, headlined by Amenra. All headliners are exclusive to Mammothfest UK in 2017.

Portland, OR ‘Street Doom’ quartet R.I.P. have released a new track from their forthcoming sophomore album Street Reaper. Hear new song, “Unmarked Grave” here on YouTube.

When R.I.P. came crawling out of the sewers of Portland, OR last year, their grimy, sleazy Street Doom was already a fully formed monstrosity that quickly infected the minds of everyone it encountered. Now, borne from the band’s declining state of mental health and increasing focus on songwriting, Street Reaper is an even more unhinged and menacing album than their 2016 debut In The Wind.

Borrowing equally from 80s Rick Rubin productions and Murder Dog magazine aesthetics, Street Reaper is a streamlined, yet brutally raw manifesto of heavy metal ferocity hearkening to the era when both metal and hip hop were reviled as the work of street thugs intent on destroying America’s youth.

Throughout, Angel Martinez’s guitar and John Mullett’s bass are inextricably interlocked, sounding like a massive sonic steamroller, while drummer Willie D keeps the beat solid and simple for the most powerful impact. And, the band’s extensive touring and excessive virgin sacrifices have clearly endued singer Fuzz with evermore agile vocal chords to drive it all home with extreme precision.

UK Death Metal Band VENOM PRISON Premiere New Music Video for “Perpetrator Emasculation”

Debut Full-Length Album, Animus, Out Now via Prosthetic Records

Coming off their Metal Hammer/Golden Gods “Best New Band” award, UK death metal outfit VENOM PRISON premiered their new video, “Perpetrator Emasculation”, with Decibel Magazine.

The track is taken from their critically acclaimed debut full length, Animus, out now. The video was shot at a house show by Ashlea Bea Photography in the band’s hometown. VENOM PRISON frontwoman, Larissa, described the need for house shows, explaining they are a vital part in the music community:

“VENOM PRISON grew from a grass roots hardcore scene, and have no intention of forgetting where we have come from. VP recently decided to do a home town show at a secret location and as you can see, it was intense. Living in a time where music venues close down or just aren’t affordable for underground promoters and bands, supporting your local scene is very important as it helps expanding musical boundaries and help to evolve the bands involved in it. Hopefully this footage from “Perpetrator Emasculation” spreads word that shows like this are going on all over the world in DIY spaces.”

As one of the most talked about bands in the UK, in addition to winning the Golden God award, VENOM PRISON has been declared “your new favorite band” by British mainstay metal mag, Kerrang! and recently was given the prestigious 5K rating for their incendiary live performance at this year’s Download festival.

Larissa comments on their tumultuous year: “This year has been relentless for us so far. VENOM PRISON have had all sorts happening recently including Download Festival and winning Best Newcomer award at the Golden Gods. It reflects everything that goes into making this happen because this band genuinely works continuously.”

The band has spent the last year touring in support of Animus, having played with Gorguts, Darkest Hour, Suicide Silence, Aversions Crown and many more. Filled to the brim with “pummeling riffs and a vicious vocal delivery” (Decibel), Animus is 10 tracks of venomous brutality that tackle subjects as social Darwinism, misogyny, rape culture and the rejection of God and religion.

After 12 long years, Brooklyn hard rock legends LIFE OF AGONY are finally back with their brand new album A Place Where There’s No More Pain, which is set to be released April 28th via Napalm Records. “The message behind ‘World Gone Mad’ could not be more relevant to what’s going on all over this planet right now. People are more divided than ever, and if we continue to ignore the fact that this world is busting at its seams and just continue to “stick our heads underground,” like the lyrics suggest, we will see a madness in our lifetime like we’ve never experienced before,” explained bassist Alan Robert just recently. He continues: “With the ‘World Gone Mad’ video, we were really looking to break out of the typical performance video approach to capture a high concept visual. After years of performing on stages across the world, fans will see the five-piece rock band from Crete, Greece performing at the biggest punk show of them all – the 2017 Vans Warped Tour, presented by Journeys!
