festivals in North East but never a purely alternative-based festival on this scale.
RISEFEST is now here to fill that gap to create something that the North East
scene has been sorely missing.

Following their massive headline set at last year’s euphoric and emotional Download Pilot event, it is announced today that Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes will be joining this year’s Download festival, alongside four other new additions, including Napalm Death and PENGSHUi. Download 2022 is the big reunion of the rock community, as the festival makes its highly anticipated return with the first full-scale Download in three years and a gargantuan line-up of the world’s most exciting bands in rock, pop punk, hardcore, metal and much more. Festival Republic have today announced the line-up for the ‘Download Pilot’. The 10,000 capacity, camping only festival will take place on 18-20 June 2021 on the hallowed grounds of Donington Park, as part of the Government’s scientific Events Research Programme.
