Polish death metal legends VADER have been one of the cornerstones of extreme metal since 1983. This year, the band from Olsztyn is celebrating its 40th anniversary with the first leg of a tour titled ‘40 Years of the Apocalypse‘. Be ready for a very special set list looking back at VADER‘s long career, from vicious demo Necrolust to their most recent album on Nuclear Blast, Solitude In Madness. VADER will be joined by their Swedish death metal brothers VOMITORY and supports SKAPHOS, WARSIDE and AETHERIAN.

ANCST puts out 3 new releases & announces Scandinavia Tour
Prolific German blackened death metal / HC outfit ANCST has just announced a new ambient album called “Desolation” that sees the project further explore the reaches of dark ambient, film music and industrial. ANCST also announced the release of “Anomaly 2.0” which compiles all their previous out-of-print ambient material on a staggering 3xCD compilation.
With 10 years under its belt, the project also celebrates its birthday with the re-issue of its first demo on a super limited 8” square lathe cut.

Darkthrone’s ‘‘Goatlord: Original’ to be released on 10th February
Darkthrone began life in the late 80s, experimenting with thrash, death & doom metal before eventually delving into the black metal genre & becoming synonymous with the style as one of the most highly regarded acts.
‘Goatlord’ was the title of what was to originally be Darkthrone’s second album. The style followed very much in the vein of debut, ‘Soulside Journey’, with a mid-paced melodic, yet technical, death metal style. After the full completion of the tracks, however, Darkthrone’s focus shifted towards black metal and a more primitive style of composition & so the album was shelved, while work commenced on what was to be the Norwegian black metal milestone, ‘A Blaze in the Northern Sky’, which incorporated some parts from the ‘Goatlord’ tracks.

CARCASS announce 2023 tour dates in Ireland and the UK
CARCASS have announced four new tour dates for March 2023, which will take the British metal legends to Glasgow, Belfast, Limerick and Dublin. The band, who are currently on the road in the USA and Canada with Amon Amarth, Obituary and Cattle Decapitation, released their latest record Torn Arteries last year. Decibel stated that the band’s 7th record is a fusion of “the best elements of virtually every era of the extremely varied Carcass back catalogue”, with Metal Hammer voicing that “Once again, this is Total Carcass. No one does it better. In fact, no one else does it.”
