MOST METAL THING TODAY: Berlin based Robot band “Compressorhead”

Most Metal Thing Today will be our new series to introduce..as you can guess..  the most metal thing today. LOL!

CH-Moscow.jpeg

But yeah.. I don’t know how many of you have heard or seen Compressorhead ? Band full of robots, playing covers from bands like Motörhead, Ac/Dc and so.. they’ve  been  popular on the internet since 2013 already.

Compressorhead is a project of Berlin-based artist Frank Barnes and collaborators Markus Kolb and Stock Plum consisting of a robot “band” that plays on real electric and acoustic instruments. The robots are made from recycled parts and are controlled via a MIDI sequencer.”

Check out below Ace of Spades with 350kg singer. Heavy sh*t..don’t you think?

Sólstafir temporarily joined by Árstíðir keyboarder Ragnar Ólafsson on European tour

When SÓLSTAFIR asked their friends and label mates, ÁRSTÍÐIR to join them on their current European tour, the Icelanders had of course no strings attached. As it turns out, there are some keys in it though…

ÁRSTÍÐIR keyboarder Ragnar Ólafsson has happily accepted to give a helping hand or rather two to the enigmatic Icelandic rockers. This is of course a temporary arrangement, so don’t miss your chance to see this special touring line-up on the road right now.

As shows have already been sold out and tickets are running low in others venues, we strongly recommend to book in advance.

Bullet Height announce release of debut album “No Atonement”

Berlin-based electronic-rock duo Bullet Height, featuring Jon Courtney and Sammi Doll, have announced the release of their debut album ‘No Atonement’ for 19th May 2017 via Superball Music / Sony Music. Featuring the band’s previous two singles ‘Bastion’ & ‘Hold Together’, the album features 10 tracks of dark, primal conviction, pulped with the avant-garde, fusing industrialised electronica, heavy guitars and heartbreakingly sweet melodies.

The band comments: “Making ‘No Atonement’ was both a challenge and an adventure – there were highs & lows, battles & triumphs – but we came out intact. We’re extremely proud of the body of work & can’t wait to get it out there.”

I left London, moved to Berlin, rented a dirt cheap room in an old DDR building and started battering out the music that would go on to become Bullet Height,” says Jon Courtney, speaking about the dispersal of his former band Pure Reason Revolution. “I wanted to produce something darker and heavier than I’d ever created.”

Watch the videos for the first two singles below:

The album is now available to pre-order on CD & limited green vinyl LP, including a signed art-card while stocks last, here:https://bulletheight.tmstor.es/

“I left Los Angeles and moved to Berlin,” Sammi Doll explains. “It was to join IAMX on tour. But when the singer, Chris Corner fell ill, it was cancelled. Which was when I met Jon. Without a direction in a new city, recording this album
granted me the headspace to channel a lot of personal demons into something simultaneously positive, dark and alluring.”

A recording contract with Superball Music (part of the Sony Music group of labels) followed suit and whilst putting the finishing touches to the album, Bullet Height began gigging to an enthusiastic Berlin underground.
“It’s been quite the journey since we’ve completed the album,”comments Sammi Doll. “Everything from the mixes to the forming the live element. It’s shaped into something much bigger than we both expected.” And Courtney concurs. “Now that we’re playing shows it all feels real. We’re excited at the prospect of expanding out from the Berlin scene and getting out there.”

Like the best of artists, fear is the only thing they fear. Free living and creating on their own terms is the fuel in both their tanks. Together they’ve reached Bullet Height. A product of ex-patriot London, set in dissident Berlin. Circa 2017.
