BloodstockFestival –LIVE REVIEW by Carina Lawrence
Bloodstock festival continues to grow each year, with 2024’s event being their biggest yet. This was evident by selling out weekend tickets and Saturday day tickets, a mighty achievement that was well deserved and expected considering the magnitude of the line-up.
Having announced nineteen bands – including the headliners – for 2025’s heavy metal extravaganza during this year’s event – BLOODSTOCK is delighted that fans are as thrilled with the line-up as festival HQ. The unprecedented demand has seen all adult early bird tickets sell out within 36 hours of going on sale, for the first time. All adult VIP tickets and campervan tickets then went on sale at 9am this Wednesday and promptly sold out just minutes later as well.
Shining, the latest full-length album from the Finnish Death Doom Pioneers Swallow The Sun, will be available via Century Media Records on Oct 18th. The powerful and very heavy new track of transformation and rebirth, “What I Have Become” will take you through personal hell and back. The new record is produced and mixed by Dan Lancaster (Bring Me the Horizon, Muse, Enter Shikari, etc.), mastered by Tony Lindgren (Fascination Street Studios) and recorded by Juho Räihä at SoundSpiral Audio, except vocals recorded by Dan Lancaster.
Following the album announcement of NIGHTWISH‘s tenth studio album Yesterwynde, due 20th September via Nuclear Blast, the Finnish symphonic metal legends share their second single from the record with their fans. ‘The Day Of…’is another breathtaking output from the band, showcasing a wide range of the band’s vast skillset.
In October 2005, British metal mainstays BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE laid solid foundations with their epochal debut album, The Poison. An unparalleled and enduring career has since followed, and in doing so the group changed the landscape and supercharged the trajectory of alternative music. 2005 saw the Welsh metallers graduate from supporting Funeral For A Friend on their UK run in the summer, to ending the year headlining the very same venues just months later. That meteoric rise saw the album hit number 21 in the UK album charts, becoming a late contender in end of year polls, placing at number seven on KERRANG!’s “Albums Of The Year” list, and since achieving gold status. An album still boasting enduring impact, Metal Hammer listed the album in the top 25 in their recent “The Greatest Metal Albums of the Century.”
With 2024’s event already laying claim as one of the biggest and best BLOODSTOCK‘s ever, festival HQ have set the wheels in motion of 2025’s heavy metal juggernaut by announcing not one, not five, but nineteen bands for its hottest summer yet, including all headliners. BLOODSTOCK 2025 will take place at Catton Park, Derbyshire on 7th-10th August.
