Ville Valo Announces Historic Royal Albert Hall Show And The End Of Neon Noir

And so, ends a new beginning. Nine short months have passed since Neon Noir cast its goth-inflected enchantments on the world. As a record, it was more than twelve wrought-iron statements of intent. It marked a triumphant return of Ville Valo to the live stage, and the ensuing seasons have seen His Infernal Majesty summoning a long-dormant worldwide flock with a bold New Testament to his rare ability to craft timeless melodies that speak powerfully to matters of the heart. But while VV’s glorious second act has already seen its share of brilliant highlights, it now emerges that some of its brightest moments are yet to come. More importantly, it has been announced that they will not shine forever.

Two-day celebration of death metal at TONES OF DECAY Festival

The TONES OF DECAY underground festival had a successful premiere last year. This year, the line-up has grown from nine bands last year to thirteen, so the festival hosting artists not only from Europe, but also from the USA, Canada and Australia, will be spread over two days.

Thirteen devastating bands from seven countries will play their shows at the festival, which takes place in mid-September. Some of them will fly to Prague via the ocean, some of them will come together exclusively for the second TONES OF DECAY. This is the case of Finnish funeral doommetallers TYRANNY. However, SIEGE COLUMN from New Jersey will also play an exclusive show here with their prehistoric destruction metal, and this will be their first ever appearance in Europe.

ALBUM REVIEW: CONQUER DIVIDE – ‘SLOW BURN’

By Carina Lawrence

Conquer Divide returns with their highly anticipated sophomore album ‘Slow Burn’, and it was worth the eight-year wait following their self-titled debut album.

The opener ‘Atonement’ injects a quick heavy hit from the off with bassist/vocalist Janel Duarte asserting her aggressive vocals before clean vocalist Kiarely Taylor comes in with beautiful melodies and a nice hefty breakdown to close. The track has a perfect balance of fierceness and catchy melody and makes for a brilliant start and introduction for long-time fans and new ones.

Soen release video for new single ‘Hollowed’

Memorial sees the band overall take a heavier approach to their craft but the new single ‘Hollowed’ is a hugely powerful and gushing ballad, which stands out as a powerful bridge across the album’s ten tracks. The song sees guitarist Cody Ford shine with an epic and intense Pink Floyd tinged guitar solo, whilst tender vocals are traded throughout from singer and founding member Joel Ekelöf and Italian star Elisa.
