Like a cataclysmic storm making landfall, the brand new album »Xenocide« from crushing Brisbane outfit AVERSIONS CROWN is here to destroy everything in its path.

On the goal in mind when writing »Xenocide«, guitarist mastermind Chris Cougan says “we wanted to accentuate our strengths as Aversions Crown; the extreme drumming, the guitar interplay, Mark’s awesome vocals and really work on the arrangements instead of having a bunch of riffs on top of some blasts.”

With a loose conceptual framework at play across »Xenocide«’s tales of destruction, revenge, reanimation and murder, Poida enthuses “I really got an awesome brutal canvas to paint a horrible evil lyrical picture on. We pushed it to the limits of our songwriting ability and are very proud of the record.”

FOSCOR hail from Catalonia, which is still yet largely unwilling part of modern Spain. With Barcelona as its capital this region has a long artistic tradition with the fin de siècle style of Modernisme a parallel development to Art Nouveau and Jugendstil among others forming one of its major achievements. Catalonia has also left its mark in the extreme music scene of Spain. FOSCOR have already finished recording their forthcoming fifth full-length, which will be released in the course of 2017. Expect something magical…

Australian progressive metal visionaries NE OBLIVISCARIS have announced the re-release of their long sold out EPs ‘Sarabande to Nihil’ and ‘Hiraeth’ for subscribers to their Patreon campaign.

The out of print EPs feature re-recorded tracks from the band’s early years and the ‘Portal of I’ era which was initially sold out in 2014 and have been out of print ever since. There are no plans to release these in any other format, so participating in this pledge drive is the only chance to hear these very special recordings.

As part of their campaign, NE OBLIVISCARIS are aiming to become the first band to crowdfund a full-time wage and have announced a membership drive that will run until the end of February with the aim to hit their target. Regarding the campaign, the band comments, “Should you want to take part, you can change your pledge up & down month to month as your personal finances permit. With their second album, “The Longed-For Reckoning”, FALL OF CARTHAGE prove their intentions are serious. After numerous live shows within the last few months, it’s clear this is not just a sideproject of Arkadius Antonik ( Official SuidAkrA , Realms of Odoric) and Martin Buchwalter ( Perzonal War ), who pulled Sascha Aßbach in front of the mic after a long absence from the music scene.

Sixteen songs represent a genre-defying creativity and joy for experimentation, as well as, their love for detail and natural sounds. Those who expect programmed blast-beats and typical Thrash or Metalcore structures will be in for a surprise. What you get is much more.

Their sound can be described somewhere between groove metal, hardcore and rap without having the feeling of simply throwing sounds together. The versatility of Sascha’s vocals is convincing in its full spectrum. Thanks to the solid and elaborate songwriting that all band members were involved in from the beginning, the new tracks are catchy without getting boring.

FOC have grown together musically, and so “The Longed-For Reckoning” will surely be a highlight for 2017.

Like the debut, “Behold,” this album was produced at Gernhart Studio in#Troisdorf, and promises a fat ass sound with superb mixing. Be on the lookout for “The Longed-For Reckoning”.
