Wacken Open Air 2023 will be a big one, no doubt. And a lot of it, because it will be a four-day-festival for the first time. While in 2022 fans needed an extra ticket for Wacken Wednesday, that day will be included for everybody in 2023 – the festivities will start officially on Wednesday, Aug 2. BLOODSTOCK is gearing up for their best ever festival and the countdown is ON! There’s just over a week to go, ‘til the marauding metal hordes thunder through the gates of Catton Park and return to their spiritual ‘home’ at BLOODSTOCK.
Sadly, due to unforeseen circumstances, SOEN have had to cancel, but the heavy noise of STRIGOI will slide into a Sunday slot on the Sophie Lancaster Stage. Prophecy Fest add Alcest to 2022 billing
Alright, it is true that we recently claimed that the billing of Prophecy Fest 2022 was complete. Well, we have good reasons to believe, nobody will complain that we are adding another band to the programme, especially as this concerns a group of dear long-time friends from France: ALCEST!
The French post-black metal or blackgaze traiblazers have released their acclaimed first 5 albums that are each already considered as modern classics via our label. Prophecy Productions are successively reissuing the band’s catalogue, of which the latest was the beautiful 10th Anniversary Edition of “Écailles de Lune” in 2020. And don’t tell anybody yet, but ALCEST and the label are already working together on a new edition of “Les Voyages de l’Âme”.

The UK’s biggest rock and metal festival returned to its full glory with its first full-scale event three years after the pandemic following the historic pilot event last year. It was a surreal and joyful feeling to be back at Donnington for festival goers and bands alike and was the sentiment of the weekend. We have all waited so long for live music to return, and it was worth the wait. The variety and calibre of music, the atmosphere and unusually stunning sunny weather made this anticipated return even better.
