Aussie Thrashers MASON Set To Unleash New Album “Impervious” + New Video “Cross This Path”

Crushing audiences across the globe with their driving force and energetic stage presence, Melbourne thrashers MASON deliver commanding performances that has taken them on tours across Australia and beyond in Asia, Europe plus Canada where they have shared the stage with the likes of Harlott, Havok, Accept, Revocation, Mutank and Annihilator.

Drawing influence from The Big Four and The Bay Area, MASON encapsulates the 80′s thrash sound mixed with fast tempos and a dominating rhythm section. Unleashing their debut self-titled EP in 2011, MASON are ones not to let the dust settle. Their ten track debut album, “Warhead” was released in 2013 and included guest guitarist Jeff Loomis (Arch Enemy, Nevermore). In 2016, MASON jumped straight back into the studio to record their second EP, “Unmerciful”, the perfect follow up showcasing the band’s ability to fuse fast and aggressive metal along with melodic guitar work that captivated and reinforced their stronghold on a global level.

Now in 2017, their second full length “Impervious” mixed and mastered by Erin Hamidovic (Devin Townsend Project, Sikth, Animals As Leaders, Periphery, Elm Street) is crashing the gates and kicking the mosh pit into overdrive with its official release set for October 6th. The nine glorious thrashing tracks will be blazing an even bigger trail for this Aussie powerhouse.

Vocalist and guitarist Jimmy Benson comments:

“During the demo process we wrote a lot of material, but the majority made the “Impervious” album minus one or two songs. We spent a lot of time fine tuning the songs and making sure they kicked ass! For this album, we focused mainly on trimming the fat and stepping up the energy and tempos. Fast, focused and heavy! For those wanting to know more about this release, “Impervious” touches on so many topics from suicide, death, terrorism and more events that happen to people around the world. When ya look at the front cover, it is a symbol of character and strength of a boy that goes about his everyday life in the worst conditions and does what is normal to him to get by day to day. To sum it up, this new album is powerful and holds a strong message from start to finish.”

The band’s latest music video “Cross This Path” features live clips from their cross Canada tour with Annihilator and Mutank this past June. Watch it at the following link:

HIGH WIRE Releases New EP “DIFFERENT PLACES”

CHICAGO, IL | SEPTEMBER 8TH 2017 – Chicago pop punk band High Wire embrace a new era with the release of their new EP “Different Places.” The EP quickly garnered attention from sites such as Alternative Press and idobi with the high energy track, “Something In The Way,” which was released as an immediate download incentive exclusively through preorders. To coincide with the release, their EP release show will take place this Sunday, 9/10, in Chicago, as well as opening for Goldfinger on 9/11, presented by Riot Fest. The EP, produced by Seth Henderson (Real Friends, Knuckle Puck), is a powerful representation of personal growth and coming of age. With the creation of “Different Places”, High Wire pushed themselves to their creative limit both musically and lyrically, the EP is very much a step in a new direction for the band with a handful of new songs, but still retains a familiar sound that fans have grown to love since their debut. About the EP, the band states:

““Different Places” is a collection of songs that tell a story of personal change and self growth. It’s the journey from who you were, through the irrevocable changes in relationships, to where you are and want to be in the future. From the band’s evolving sound to the literal journey of the band members crossing state and international borders, “Different Places” is the representation of where you started, and where you are going.”

Every coming of age story starts somewhere. For Chicago, IL quartet High Wire, the story started in different places. Since their inception in 2012, the band has made a name for themselves in a thriving Chicago punk scene establishing a dedicated fan base and sharing stages with the likes of Real Friends, Sleep On It, Knockout Kid and more. Different Places, produced by Seth Henderson (Real Friends, Knuckle Puck, Sleep On It)  is a collection of songs that tell a story of personal changes and growth. It’s the journey from who you were, molded by the irrevocable changes in relationships to where you are presently, and who you aspire to be in the future. The EP is a representation both literally and physically for the band and embodies where High Wire started, where the band is presently and where they’re headed in the future. “Different Places” is available NOW.

CANNABIS CORPSE are now premiering their smoking hot forthcoming album, ‘Left Hand Pass’, which has been scheduled for release on September 8th.

Shooting Guns premiere video for ‘Flavour Country’, Netflix hit ‘WolfCop’ composers & Juno Prize nominees’ new album

Canada’s award-nominated psych 6-piece Shooting Guns premiere the video for the title track from their new album Flavour Country today via Metal Insider. Watch and share “Flavour Country” HERE. (Direct YouTube.)
Hear & share the entire album via Bandcamp and YouTube (either link cleared for posting.)
Shooting Guns is known (and oft-nominated) for their film soundtrack work, but Flavour Country is more like a collection of anthems for your jettison from this universe into the multiverse.
While they’re known for heavy and saturated sounds befitting crazed horror-comedy flicks like Netflix hit WolfCopFlavour Country features some of the band’s fastest, heaviest and most visceral material to date. Yet, it also features some of the band’s most atmospheric sounds as well.
At times there are slight hints of Ennio Morricone‘s Spaghetti Western twang amidst the looping Meddle-era Pink Floyd heavy psych and driving drone reminiscent of Bobby Beausoleil‘s belladonna laced soundtrack to Kenneth Anger‘s Lucifer Rising. But for the most part here, Shooting Guns is out for blood, regardless of tempo.
Album opener “Ride Free” kicks off with a blistering wall of guitars blaring and rattling out of the gate like mutant progeny to fellow Canadian biker-rock heroes Steppenwolf having duly fired all of the guns, exploded into space and returned to hunt down every last one of us. It accelerates from there: “French Safe” sounds like an unhinged battalion of musicians driving full throttle like a scene from a George Miller Road Warrior movie. Biting, lengthier tracks like “Simian Shelf” and the title track occupy the heavy end of the psychedelic spectrum, haunting the foggy moor between early, bluesy Sabbath-styled doom riffery and heavy pulse-riding kraut-rock.
Flavour Country is the first album recorded by the band themselves at their own Pre-Rock Studios in Saskatoon, SK, located in the middle of the Canadian prairies. The album title’s spelling is itself a nod to the band’s Great White North homeland. The album was mastered by John McBain (ex-Monster Magnet, Carlton Melton), who also mastered the band’s previous RidingEasy releases.
Shooting Guns have toured over 60,000 miles across Canada over the past 7 years but have yet to tour Internationally, which will be a big focus for them after this release. They are touring their live score to F.W. Murnau‘s Nosferatu across Canada throughout 2017 and also just finished scoring the soundtrack to Another WolfCop (sequel to WolfCop), which is slated for a US theatrical release in September 2017. Their sophomore LP, Brotherhood of the Ram, released in 2013 through RidingEasy Records was nominated for the 2015 JUNO Metal/Hard Album of the Year as well as the Polaris Music Prize. Their debut LP, Born To Deal in Magic: 1952-1976, was also nominated for the Polaris Music Prize in 2012.
Flavour Country is available on LP, CD and download as of August 11th, 2017 via RidingEasy Records.

Video premiere: MORPHOSYS “You Shall Bleed”

German Death metal band Morphosys have launched new lyric video, entitled “You Shall Bleed” through Witches Brew’s official YouTube channel here:

The German Death Metal tank, MORPHOSYS, was originally formed on the first of January, 2002. They released a demo in December 2004 and a year later the track, “Ode To My Chainsaw”, was featured on the Rebirth Of Metal Vol 2 compilation. In 2006 they independently released their debut, “Der Blutmond”, produced by Matthias Wimmer and mixed and mastered by NECROPHAGIST bassist Stephan Fimmers.

The track “The Fall Of Heaven” was featured on the G.U.C. Magazine compilation number 23 and later as a reworked version on the Extreme Aggression Compilation Vol 1. After a few line up changes, they went back in the studio to record “The Chopping Block”, released in 2009 on their own label Bloodmoon and distributed by Twilight Vertrieb. In March of 2011 they released “Face Of Leather”, also  produced by Stephan Fimmers and featuring guest vocals by Paul Speckmann (MASTER) on “Necromaniac”. Due to further line up changes, all was somewhat quiet on the MORPHOSYS front until 2016 when the line up was solidified and rehearsals started on songs for their next offering. That same year the band also joined forces with local German label Witches Brew. They returned to the studio once again with long time producer Stephan Fimmers, from January to March 2017, and emerged with “The Saw Is Family”, an album chock full of pummeling Death Metal with influences from Thrash, Heavy and even a dash of Black Metal here and there! This devastating new full length will be released 15 September on Witches Brew and available worldwide via Plastic Head Music Distribution.
