The Savonian occult rock behemoth Jess and the Ancient Ones have emerged with a new album! Their brand of heavy guitar and organ-led swagger has progressed from the twin guitar metal blast of yesteryear to Jess and the Ancient Ones’ very own take on soulful late sixties garage psychedelia. Titled Vertigo, the new record is set for release on Svart Records on May 21 this year with a foreboding sound of lysergic doom.

The opening song contains fragments of the Old Church Slavonic prayer to the holy spirit, of course in the allegorical message and interpretation of Batushka, which connects the profanum with the sacrum of the orthodox church.
Following their new singles ‘Obsolete’ and ‘Timeless’, described as “crushing” by Revolver and as “thought provoking” and “cinematic” by Loudwire, California’s Of Mice & Men have released their critically acclaimed new EP Timeless today, via SharpTone Records. It’s available here. The artwork for the EP was hand-drawn by iconic artist Derek Hess.
