Prosthetic Records Adds Canadian Post-Metal Four-Piece LOVIATAR to its Ever Growing Roster

June 10, 2017 darkartconspiracy Leave a comment

LOVIATAR (pronounced low-vye-ah-tar), are the latest addition to the Prosthetic Records family. Hailing from Canada, this four-piece borrows equally from the hazy gloom of My Bloody Valentine and the crushing riffs of Isis. With clearly sung vocals and equal parts somber and soaring, their thunderous elements of doom and post-metal contrast with hypnotic moments of atmospheric introspection to set them apart from others in the genre.

Formed in 2010, LOVIATAR have independently released a series of singles and EPs, and have been tapped to support such acts as Red Fang, Skeletonwitch and Blood Ceremony. In 2014, they shifted production to their newly built Wolf Lake Studios deep in the forested hills outside the nation’s capital and began work on their first full length LP. Self-titled and set for a worldwide release date on July 28, 2017, the album features two monolithic tracks available on all digital platforms, digipack CD and a limited edition gold and black swirl LP.

LOVIATAR Track Listing:

1. Nascent (Stygian Wyrm Part I) – 6:11

2. Discordant (Stygian Wyrm Part II) – 3:39

3. Ascendant (Stygian Wyrm Part III) – 8:07

4. Blind Goddess of the Nine Plagues – 19:03

LOVIATAR is:

JD: Vocal, Rhythm Guitar

JP Sadek: Drums, Backing Vocal

Shane Whitbread: Lead Guitar

Mike Bond: Bass

Extreme Metal Originators VENOM INC. Return with New Full-Length Album, “Avé”

June 10, 2017 darkartconspiracy Leave a comment

“Blood Stained Earth” Headline Tour with Goatwhore, Toxic Holocaust and The Convalescence Begins September 1 – Meet & Greet Packages Available!

Regardless of your take on black metal forefathers Venom, they are the undisputed originators of extreme metal as we know it. Almost 40 years after their inception, the revitalized 1989-1992 line-up of guitarist Jeff “Mantas” Dunn, vocalist/bassist Tony “Demolition Man” Dolan and drummer Anthony “Abaddon” Bray have returned with a monster of an album.

After months of anticipation, VENOM INC. will release their upcoming full-length opus, entitled Avé, on August 11, 2017 via Nuclear Blast. Pre-orders for the new album are available now at: www.nuclearblast.com/venominc-ave

VENOM INC. was born during an impromptu live set at 2015’s Keep it True Festival in Lauda-Königshofen, Germany. The on-stage reunion was a rousing success amongst Venom fans and music industry personnel alike, and although it was originally only set up for fun, Dolan began receiving numerous show offers for VENOM INC. from booking agents around the world. What started as a live set to celebrate Venom‘s legacy immediately turned into a serious reunion discussion. The rest is history.

While unexpected at the outset, the end result of this reunion is an album that true Venom fans will gladly add to the top of their playlists. Vocalist/bassist Tony “Demolition Man” Dolan says, “We tried to shape Avé so that it comes at you dark, then it gets bright and heavy and just keeps growing into some kind of monster.”

Avé track listing:

01. Ave Satanas

02. Forged In Hell

03. Metal We Bleed

04. Dein Fleisch

05. Blood Stained

06. Time To Die

07. The Evil Dead

08. Preacher Man

09. War

10. I Kneel To No God

11. Black N Roll

Going in to writing Avé, VENOM INC. realized their live performance was the key to creating an album that would be a metal classic. It was clear that any songs the trio came up with had to have the intensity, the honesty and the aggression that was happening for VENOM INC. in a live situation. Simply put, they needed to translate what they do on stage onto a record. Not once did they look back on the Venom catalogue and think, “We have to write another ‘Black Metal’ or another ‘Schizo’…” The focus is on VENOM INC. and everything the rejuvenated three-piece do in the here and now.

Dolan adds, “Expect 100% pure, honest, solid, hard, dark, thought-provoking metal… like it was, is and forever shall be. Classic old-school, but with the ferocity and energy that we display in our live show. We are proud of this album and our new home at Nuclear Blast, as well as our whole team – management, PR, agents, sponsors and most of all, YOU. Thank you! See you somewhere on this Blood Stained Earth!”

Sólstafir enter the international album charts with ‘Berdreyminn’

June 10, 2017 darkartconspiracy Leave a comment

SÓLSTAFIR have entered the album charts in several countries in the first week after ‘Berdreyminn’ was released worldwide on May 26th. It is actually hard to overstate the massive achievement of a band coming from a volcanic island close to the arctic circle in the North Atlantic midway between Europe and America that sings in Icelandic and that has evolved a highly original style of music very much their own. Excluding the multiple high scores in digital charts across all platforms worldwide and focusing on physical charts, these are the album’s current results (with expected top positions from their native Iceland and other countries still missing):

Finland #20 National album charts

France #121 National charts
France #2 Metal charts

Germany #30 National album charts

Sweden #8 Vinyl charts
Sweden #18 Hardrock charts

Switzerland #42 National charts

UK #39 – Top 100 independent album chart
UK #24 – Top 40 rock/metal album chart

Season of Mist congratulates SÓLSTAFIR for their well-deserved success!

Frontman Aðalbjörn Tryggvason commented on behalf of SÓLSTAFIR: “Videos have always been a medium that we are taking seriously. Therefore, we have worked with excellent visual artists like Bowen Staines and Vesa Ranta on previous clips. We are privileged to have been able to enlist the team of Nico Poalillo and Peter Beste to create the imagery for ‘Silfur-Refur’. They have directed and produced a video that beautifully illustrates our song – at least in our minds. We are giving Nico and Peter our heartfelt thanks for their amazing contribution to our musical vision. The video’s meaning is a puzzle, which we are leaving for you to solve as we don’t want to spoil your imagination spinning stories of its own. We sincerely hope that you enjoy ‘Silfur-Refur’ as much as we do.”
