DAGOBA – team up with Century Media for the worldwide release of the new album “Black Nova”

On August 25th, 2017, French metal force DAGOBA will release its seventh studio album, “Black Nova”, as a cooperation of Jive/Epic for France and Century Media for the rest of the world.

Formed in 1997 and inspired by 90’s American metal greats such as Pantera, Machine Head and Fear Factory, DAGOBA quickly expanded their furious sound with dark, symphonic and industrial elements culminating on what is to become their strongest album to date, “Black Nova”.

Shawter – singer, guitarist, composer and leader of DAGOBA – helmed the recordings of “Black Nova”, which took place at Eagle Black, his own studio in Marseille, whereas Jacob Hansen (Volbeat, Epica, Heaven Shall Burn) took care of mix and mastering. “Black Nova” sounds massive with rich dynamics, towering riffs, vigorous shouts and infectious melodic choruses all over the place. The equally powerful artwork was created by Seth Siro Anton (Septic Flesh).

The tracklist for “Black Nova” reads as follows:
1. Tenebra
2. Inner Sun
3. The Legacy Of Ares
4. Stone Ocean
5. The Infinite Chase
6. The Grand Emptiness
7. Lost Gravity
8. Fire Dies
9. Phoenix et Corvus
10. Vantablack

Known as an impressive live act, DAGOBA are about to set sails for Japan in May with full European touring under way right around time of release of “Black Nova”. Stay tuned for further details in the coming weeks!

THE HAUNTED – Wrapping up new album recordings; Studio teaser, title and release date!

After finishing strong of tour dates with Meshuggah in the UK and Arch Enemy in Central Europe, Swedish Thrash Metallers THE HAUNTED have been busy these last weeks with the recording and mixing process of their upcoming, 9th studio album effort. Recorded at Parlour Studios in the UK with producer Russ Russell (Napalm Death, Dimmu Borgir, The Exploited), the album is entitled “Strength In Numbers” and will be released worldwide via Century Media Records on August 25th, 2017.

THE HAUNTED’s guitarist Ola Englund has checked in with the following comment: “Working on “Strength In Numbers” with Russ Russell as an engineer and producer has been an incredible experience. His attitude and positivity has helped us to truly do our best when recording. He’s just a killer guy to be around!”, before adding: “All the tracking for the album has been completed and Russ is right in the middle of mixing and mastering it. And from the early mixes I’ve heard, it’s shaping up to be insanely heavy. No clean singing, no banjo, no pickup trucks…so fans of country music are gonna hate it, haha! Seriously: Heads are gonna roll. In a good way…”

A video teaser from recording sessions can now be seen here:

REVIEW: VISTA – Allegiance (Single)

REVIEW: VISTA – Allegiance (Single)                                                                                             by Carina Lawrence

vistasingleartwork.jpg

New and exciting alt rock act VISTA from New York are  setting out to take the scene by storm and are rapidly building momentum. With a successful debut EP, ‘Versus’ and their latest dominating single ‘Henchmen’ under their belts already, they are wasting no time by releasing new ambient and feisty single ‘Allegiance’.

From the off the new song is striking with interesting rhythms and is very atmospheric, giving it a deep and dark edge. It is a powerful driven song with strong compelling vocals throughout, and hard-hitting bouncy riffs and beats, giving it the ultimate anthemic rock sound that oozes swagger. This is a song you are going to want to stick on repeat, especially whilst you eagerly wait for their next offerings, which hopefully aren’t far off, as this is the lead single from their next upcoming EP. What they have achieved since their formation last year is impressive and only highlights further that this is a band to watch out for this year.

SCORE: 5/5

The new single ‘Allegiance’ is out May 19th.
