SAWTHIS Release New 360-Degree Music Video + Announce Album Details

The band chose to film in 360-degree to create the illusion of a “virtual square”, allowing the viewer to control their own vantage point. Bassist Gaetano Ettorre states, “‘For the “Start A New Game’ music video, we created a “modern square” full of confusion and solitude. This square seems crowded by virtual people projected on the protagonist through the monitors, but at the end it’s just a bare and sad room. The protagonist can’t stop watching the monitors as he is essentially fed by that media, so he eventually becomes a puppet under virtual oppression.”

SAWTHIS regard Babhell as their best work to date. Ettorre states, Babhell, in general, touches upon themes of poor human communication and its negative result. Everyone is talking, and no one is listening or looking at what’s happening right in front of them. Ultimately, in a world where everyone is talking and no one is listening, honest dialogue becomes impossible and thoughts become just noise like a Babel, a hellish Babel, hence the name Babhell. If I had to choose a term to describe the sound of the record, it would be ‘multi-emotional chaos’. Our music is a balance of rage and happiness, resignation and reaction, love and hate-Babhell represents a perfect mix of everything.”

Stay tuned for more tracks and other media coming from SAWTHIS supporting Babhell.

Canadian Fest Celebrating Women In Metal METALOCALYPSTICK Announce First Batch of Bands To Line Up

Based in Valemount, BC near Jasper National Park with the beautiful backdrop of the Canadian Rockies, there stands an outdoor festival that just doesn’t celebrate Heavy Metal, but embraces the power of women in metal.

Formed in 2016, METALOCALYPSTICK FEST was created to present a unique experience within the Western Canadian metal community, a gathering of similar views, aspirations and musical taste. (similar to former mainstream music festival Lilith Fair.)

Founded by Kaija Kinney of Vancouver’s Anarcheon after researching a lack of female based metal festivals to apply her band to, Kinney took matters into in her own and decided to produce the event.

Kinney comments:

“This festival means the celebration of both sexes coming together and creating something amazing. People like to say women in metal aren’t a big deal anymore and that we are all the same. I feel that is untrue, this is still a male dominated world and woman are still looked as lesser. I want to showcase all these bad ass ladies and celebrate the differences of men and woman rather than pretend we are all equal. Truth is we are different why can’t we celebrate that?”

In addition to the festival celebrating women in metal, the METALOCALYPSTICK FEST gives back to the community by being a non-profit organization dedicated to raise funds and donating 100% of proceeds to local charities Girls Rock Camp, Vancouver Rape Relief and Women’s Shelter, Earth Protectors plus an audience picked foundation.

The 1st annual Metalocalypstick hosted female influenced metal bands from across Canada and the world such as Brazil’s Nervosa (Napalm Records), Egypt’s Massive Scar Era, Hollywood’s The Maension, Valfreya, Scythia, Mortillery (Napalm Records), Van Halst, Dead Asylum, Juliet Ruin, Violent Betty, Omega Crom, Körperlose Stimme, Elysium Echoes, Solborn, Monarch Sky, Forsaken Rite, Anarcheon, and Suspended.

Preparing for their 2nd annual year, the outdoor festival for women in metal is proud to announce their first batch of bands added to the line up with Tessitura, Körperlose Stimme, Meteor Tree, Scythia, Hedks, Forsaken Rite and Remnants.

METALOCALYPSTICK presented by Gigfly.ca is being held during Canada Day weekend on July 1st and 2nd in Valemount, BC. For tickets and more info, please visit the following links:

The song “Of the Key and Crossed Bones” is now streaming on the Season of Mist YouTube and free for sharing.

Here, She is understood as the psychopomp and gatekeeper that leads the soul through the perilous passages of the otherworld, unto the light of the Father, identified as the divine Sun.”

Captain Christopher Bowes commented on the album:
“Oh wow! It’s a new Alestorm album! I hope all of you fellow humans & dogs like it; we think it’s pretty gosh darn ok! It’s also our first album to feature our grandiose guitarist Máté Bodor who brings his tasty & delicious solos and rifftacular riffing into the mix. This is the place in the press release where we would usually tell you this album is darker and heavier than our previous works, but that’s probably not true. It is, however, full of epic songs about pirates, drinking, and pseudoscientific cryptogeography. I’m sure y’all will enjoy those things just as much as we do.”

Probably the most immediate and instantly memorable song off Woe to the Vanquished and sure to become a live favorite. The song deals with the increasingly militaristic behavior of the police in recent times, and the chorus line is a play on ‘You have the right to remain silent.’Crank it up and bang your fucking head! Synaptik Release New Video Single For ‘The Incredible Machine’ Taken From New Album “Justify & Reason” Out Now!

British heavy metal five-piece, Synaptik from Norwich, UK have had a brilliant and busy year already, having signed with DeFox and Heart Of Steel records as well as landing a US deal with Divebomb records and re-releasing a remixed heavier version of their hit debut album, “The Mechanisms of Consequence” on 30th January, and they are set to make an even bigger impact with their sophomore album, “Justify & Reason” which is released today (March 10th).

To promote the release of their anticipated new album they have just dropped an official lyric video for new single, the mighty melodic and extremely technically skilled “The Incredible Machine”, which features guest vocals from Meyrick de la Fuente (Exist Immortal).

Vocalist, John Knight commented on working with Meyrick de la Fuente who also produced the new album at Floodgate Studio. Saying: “(Meyrick’s) Vocals on the chorus brought my original melody line to life, our vocals complimented each other well. It added a further dynamic which creates more melody that helps hammer home what the new album is all about; melody, aggression and emotion. It’s perfect as the opening track and sets the standard for the rest of the album.”

Knight also talked about the lyrical meaning behind the new single, ‘The Incredible Machine’:
“Lyrically the song describes the human brain. The inner workings of the mind to a large extent remain a mystery. It’s extraordinary, our entire experience of life, all our mental experiences; they all result from the activity of chemistry in our brain, the activity of neurotransmitters and neurocircuits, synaptic signals sparking, a hundred billion nerve cells coordinate our physical actions. Quite literally mind blowing.”

Check out the powerful and ambient video below!

New album “Justify & Reason” is described as “A collection exhibiting real finesse, true technicality but not at the expense of neck-snapping riffs and a progressive air that’s both bracing and intimidatingly menacing”.

Synaptik are very experienced and skilled musicians and as a result have had the pleasure of sharing the stage with the likes of Iron Maiden, Exodus and Onslaught. They have also recently been added to the immense Mammothfest UK line-up alongside headliners Rotting Christ, Fleshgod Apocalypse, Lawnmower Deth and more. Mammothfest currently looks like this:

Tickets for the festival are available here: Tickets are available here –www.mammothfest.uk/store
