Prog giants Dream Theater will play two special gigs in early February in Finland

Last year, the prog giant Dream Theater, who released their 15th studio album in a row, A View From The Top Of The World , will be seen in Finland at the beginning of February with two special shows, where there will also be gems previously enjoyed live only from records. The massive Top Of The World Tour already started a month ago in the United States, and the upcoming performances at Tampere’s Nokia Arena on February 2 and the next day at Oulun’s Energia Arena are part of this whole.

Dream Theater i.e. James LaBrie, John Petrucci, Jordan Rudess, John Myung and Mike Mangini had to end their previous, sold-out world tour in the middle of the pandemic, but the forced vacation from touring brought completely new dimensions to the new album with the seemingly endless time.

“We just love playing our instruments, that never goes away. We love to be creative and create new music, and even though we’ve been doing this for so long, we never take that for granted. When we’re together, we know we can’t disappoint ourselves or our fans , so we just try harder,” says Petrucci, who also produced the new album.

“We approach every album like it’s our first. It’s been an incredible journey already, but we’re not going to stop,” adds LaBrie.

The two-time Grammy nominee, who has sold more than 15 million albums in his career, has received numerous recognitions over the years: the band was listed, for example, on Rolling Stone magazine’s “100 Greatest Metal Albums of All-Time” with their album Images & Words, the next album Awake was on Guitar World was on the list number one on Superunknown: 50 Iconic Albums That Defined 1994, and Metropolis Pt. 2: Scenes from a Memory ended up number one in Rolling Stone magazine’s fan-decided Number One All-Time Progressive Rock Album poll – just to name a few of the endless list of achievements.
