WOODHAWK “Strikes Back Tour” (AB/SK/BC) + Riff-tastic Debut “Beyond The Sun” Out Now!

Calgary’ AB’s masters of straight ahead riff-rock wizardry WOODHAWK will be hitting the road this September for their second Western Canadian tour (AB/SK/BC) (dates listed below) in support of their full length album ‘Beyond The Sun’ released this past April. The album was produced by the band with Jesse Gander (Bison, Japandroids) to follow their 2014 debut EP.  Made of equal parts 1970’s Birmingham and a myriad of 21st century heavy who’s who, WOODHAWK are purveyors of riff-centric rock and roll. Capable and original, the band is able to craft anthemic fist-pumping songs while forgoing tired stoner rock clichés. With time travel tested themes of science fiction, swords and sorcery, the band’s lyrics are born from snowy winters, hot practice spaces and pages of dog-eared paperbacks. While the musicianship reinforces recollections of Black Sabbath, modern influences that have helped you smash air drums or highway speed limits are undeniably present.

The band’s music video ‘The High Priest’ can be viewed here:

COURAGE MY LOVE – Premiere New Video ‘ANIMAL HEART’

Warner Music Canada recording artists Courage My Love have premiered a new video for ‘Animal Heart’ with Rock Sound.  The track is taken from their debut album Synesthesiawhich is out now.

Singer Mercedes says “For this video we were very inspired by 70s and 80s style horror movies, VHS, glitches, and pushing the boundaries of the contrast between beauty and the unsettling. We wanted to flip the script of the hunter and the hunted. We wanted to embody the feeling of animalistic, monstrous lust and explore the dark side of love. The lyrics of Animal Heart are about a love so passionate, that it causes you to regress into a jealous, obsessive version of yourself. The video concept is a creature that takes the form of a beautiful woman to seduce and trap her prey. We filmed this video in Paris, France while on tour with the help and vision of one of our new favourite artists: Polygon1993. We hope you enjoy!”  Continue reading COURAGE MY LOVE – Premiere New Video ‘ANIMAL HEART’

ARCH ENEMY – reveal music video for debut single, “The World Is Yours”

ARCH ENEMY – reveal music video for debut single, “The World Is Yours”

ARCH ENEMY have risen once again and are ready to accelerate at full force as they unleash the masterful new single, “The World Is Yours”, taken from their forthcoming album, “Will To Power”, due out on September 8 via CENTURY MEDIA RECORDS worldwide.

Mastermind Michael Amott comments, “We’ve been hard at work on the new album for a while now and we’re proud to present the first taste of new Arch Enemy music in over three years with our new single and video, ‘The World Is Yours’! This was the first song I wrote for the upcoming ‘Will To Power’ album and Daniel (Erlandsson, drums) helped me arrange and finish it up. One of many songs we co-wrote and co-produced this time around. We had a blast recording together with the full band in the south of Sweden and then mixing with Jens Bogren, who did a superb mix and mastering – in my opinion even surpassing the epic sound on our previous record, ‘War Eternal’. People that have heard this song in particular are saying it’s got the classic anthemic Arch Enemy vibe going on, and I think they might be right about that… Looking forward to playing it live on stage later this summer!”

The massive debut track can be heard and seen in their rousing music video, directed by Patric Ullaeus:

“The World Is Yours” will be offered as an instant download with all digital pre-orders and is also available on all streaming platforms.

“Will To Power” promises to be the ultimate statement of heavy metal supremacy and will mark the first album the band have recorded with their current line-up — ALISSA WHITE-GLUZ (Vocals), MICHAEL AMOTT (Guitars), JEFF LOOMIS (Guitars), SHARLEE D’ANGELO (Bass), and DANIEL ERLANDSSON (Drums).  The album was co-produced by AMOTT and ERLANDSSON, while being mixed and mastered by Jens Bogren.

Following the immense critical acclaim from their anthem-laden triumph of 2014, “War Eternal”, ARCH ENEMY will continue to bring their thunderous live performances to fans worldwide on the “Will To Power 2017 International Tour” this fall, followed by a busy summer making appearances across the European festival market. The first leg of the tour will stretch across Eastern Europe from September 15 to October 11 with direct support from Jinjer. Further dates across Europe and North America are soon to be revealed. Kent Alt-Hardcore Band COVE Unveil New Video SOLIS

Kent’s COVE mark their return by unleashing blistering new video SOLIS on an unsuspecting world. The track brims with energy and ear for detail, cementing the band as masters of cacophony who are set to make one hell of a dent in British heavy music.

The meaning of the song Solis is subjective to the listener, everyone in the band helped contribute to it and in a way we all have our own definition of what the song is about. To some it may hint at the idea of when one door closes another opens and to someone else it may point at something far more emotive, the loss of a loved one for example. We feel song values are compromised when the outright meaning is spelled out too easily, it’s like telling someone the end of a film before they’ve watched it. Our way of thinking is that the meaning is personal to the individual/individuals listening at that moment in time. We believe this gives the audience a way to have their own personal connection with a song and not be persuaded into what they should take from it

Recorded by Tom Keech (We Are The Ocean, Don Broco) in the midst of British winter at a studio that was undergoing construction, the icy and derelict surroundings helped to spawn the creation of SOLIS. Having spent much of 2017 crafting new music, the track is a taster of things to come from COVE. Comprising of vocalist Ben Shorten, bassist Charlie Smith, drummer Jack Bowdery and guitarists Ben Brazier & Pete Woolven, COVE released their debut effort We Were Once Lost in October of 2016. Widespread praise for the record fuelled a hefty touring schedule, including shows with Blood Youth, Create To Inspire and Holding Absence.

The band will also hit the road at the end of this month throughout August, with two date supporting Holding Absence:

7th Jul – The Ex, Corby
26th Jul – Black Heart, London
4th Aug – Forum, Tunbridge Wells (w/ Holding Absence)
5th Aug – The Booking Hall, Dover (w/ Holding Absence)
9th Aug – Sticky Mike’s, Brighton
10th Aug – Subside, Birmingham
11th Aug – O’RIleys, Hull
12th Aug – The Garage Attic, Glasgow
13th Aug – Santiagos, Leeds
1st Oct – Deadbolt Festival, Manchester
