Back in 2007 three long-haired teenage stoner doom fans naturally drifted towards each other in the depths of rural Suffolk. Hoping to avoid drowning in the sea of mediocre-metalcore and emo-misery that surrounded them, Teddy-James Driscoll, Jus Smith and Jack Newnham formed TOOM. This band was a short-lived and unproductive beast, but a beast nonetheless; a heavy, growling, riff-laden beast.
TOOM drew influence from Sleep, Iron Monkey, Mastodon, High on Fire, Acid King, Floor and Black Sabbath. In the months before the trio parted ways, they entered SAE Studios in London and in a single night recorded a monstrously heavy EP titled ’Behold The Basilisk’. It was never released.
Since then, the members have joined or started a few other bands worthy of note. Ted went on to join Telepathy and has recently formed Cobra Lucha; Justin found fame with psych-rockers Purson and is currently a member of Uncle Acid and the Deadbeats, whilst Jack went on to form Old Man Lizard and join the mighty Slabdragger. Commenting on the EP Jack states,
“For us this release is a time capsule back to a long weekend, just over a decade ago. January 2010; one of the last months of a band we had formed as teenagers. It was the coldest January since the mid-80s and on the night we recorded it was -8° overnight in London, meaning that even the canals just outside the studio had totally frozen. We smashed out all the tracks in one evening, at the studio which was part of the Uni our friend Jason (who recorded us) was studying at. I recall we had to dodge the security guards to crash in the studio overnight. The next day, we had rehearsals for a show, the day after that, at the legendary Crobar in Soho. My memory of that evening is a blur, but apparently it involved us getting a bus full of people getting kicked off of the bus because we managed to break the doors, Christ knows how. We also ended up at the opening party for the, now equally legendary, Black Heart and at some point in the night Ted, our guitarist, got headbutted outside a corner shop. Exciting times.”
APF Records will be releasing TOOM’s EP for the first time on 1st October. Four massive tracks from the archives which have stood the test of time, and represent a time capsule of the nascent UK sludge / stoner / doom scene.

Following Monday’s MetalSucks report detailing numerous allegations against booking agent John Finberg over the course of the past two decades his main artists Nightwish and many other came out and fired him .
Now Ipek Warnock , the lead singer of the band Wykked Wytch made post about her experiences regarding Finberg back in the days 1997.
The question is: Everyone who has been worked with him has been silent, like years? The bands, their management’s, Record labels?
He represents or represented many worldwide known artists and is also the sole owner of a website called Enterthevault.com, an internet ticket sales site and besides the music business. He used to be one of the owners in Finnish bar in Helsinki called “Komppi” and also having some business in thailand regarding his interview. So he might be definitely very powerful person in many level to make people silent ? But question is why?

LORNA SHORE’s forthcoming album, “Immortal”, which is due for a worldwide release on January 31st 2020, is nothing short of a shock of blackened, symphonic ambitions and epic intents.
Click HERE for a video for the brand new song “Death Portrait”:
Austin Archey (drums) says: “’Death Portrait’ unveils the intensity and emotion we put behind this entire new record. Paired with a live video featuring footage from our first US headliner, I believe this gives the listener a proper journey through the darkness that was used to create ‘Immortal’ as a whole “
Formed in 2010, LORNA SHORE were quick to surpass “local band” expectations with 2012’s “Bone Kingdom”-EP and it’s follow-up, 2013’s “Malificium”-EP. Through each release, LORNA SHORE continues to prove themselves to be an increasingly formidable force and a ferocious live proposition. 2017’s sophomore LP, “Flesh Coffin” showed a band that had moved beyond mere “deathcore” trappings and had evolved into a modern metal band, as uncompromising and accomplished as any of their contemporaries or influences.
“We became the band we wanted to be, rather than just the product of our early influences,” says guitarist Adam De Micco. “’Immortal’ is the latest chapter of that story of us as a band, as players and as people.” Armed with new vocalist C.J. McCreery (ex-Signs of the Swarm), LORNA SHORE has made a record that stands apart from their earlier works. The earliest hints of that have come with the release of album tracks, “This Is Hell” and “Darkest Spawn”, twin deathly salvos released from LORNA SHORE’s early album sessions with producer Josh Schroeder (Battlecross, King 810, For Today) at Random Awesome Studios in Midland, MI. Recording for the album.
“Immortal” is the beginning of another chapter for LORNA SHORE and is available in the following formats: CD Jewelcase, LP+CD, Digital Album. The following vinyl colours will be available apart from black vinyl:
200x clear via CM Distro
200x mint green via Impericon
200x dark green via EMP
In North America the vinyl edition will be a neon yellow LP.
