SPECIAL OPS Announce Canadian Tour Dates + New EP Out Now! “Baby Take It All”

Rocking out of the barracks, SPECIAL OPS are returning to the frontline after a small hiatus and battle by one of their original founder’s fight against cancer along with a line up change that sees guitarist Weka BW joining the platoon. The band will be embarking on their first cross Canada tour in 10 years in support of their two new EPs “Baby Take It All” and “Tangents” both released six months apart from each other. The tour will be kicking off in their hometown of Montreal on September 23rd and wrap up in Ottawa on November 5th (dates listed below).

Vocalist / guitarist Akbar Johnson comments:

“Can’t wait to hit the road after all this time. It’s been great playing lots of shows around Quebec and Ontario, but it’s time to head out to the rest of Canada and where the real party is at!”

FORGOTTEN TOMB detail new album “We Owe You Nothing” and premiere title track

“We Owe You Nothing”, the ninth studio album from Italian black/doom metal overlords FORGOTTEN TOMB, is set to be released on October 27th in Europeand November 10th in North America via Agonia Records. The album’s title track & first single is available in the form of a lyric video, at this link:

“We Owe You Nothing” marks the highest point in the band’s constant evolution and once more makes it hard to narrow down its sound to some pre-existing labels. Effortlessly blending the eerie, dissonant black metal sound the band is well-known for with muscular sludge/doom riffs and a subtle, nihilistic punk attitude, “We Owe You Nothing” defines the band’s personality more than ever, reaffirming its unique sound.

Monolord premieres “Dear Lucifer” from forthcoming album via Revolver Magazine

Gothenburg, Sweden trio Monolord share a new track from their highly anticipated third album
Rust today via Revolver Magazine. The track “Dear Lucifer” is available to hear and share HERE. (Direct link via YouTube and Bandcamp.)

The band previously released the title track, which also features John Gamino (Mondo Drag) on keyboards and Trevor Church (Beastmaker) playing a guitar solo at the end of the tune. Hear and share “Rust” via YouTube. And, album opener “Where Death Meets the Sea” dropped last month HERE.

Monolord is a rare breed: A band both encompassing and transcending genre; a vortex of heavy rock density that consumes all others. Their thunderous, tuneful heft has built a rabid international fanbase in short order since their 2014 debut. But Rust, the band’s third full length, truly exemplifies why some refer to them as the Nirvana of doom.

“We’ve always been inspired by great band musicians – as opposed to technical solo peacocks,” Willems says. “Because that force of a band really playing together as one single unit is incomparable. At its best, it’s just unstoppable.” And, Monolord is truly unstoppable, on record and on stage. “A heavy groove that contains both bombastic overkill and a lot of dynamics is what we always aim for in Monolord; in playing, in song writing and arranging, in recording,” drummer Esben Willems says.

Rust will be available on LP, CD and download on September 29th, 2017 via RidingEasy Records. Pre-orders are available at RidingEasy and Bandcamp.

ANNIHILATOR to Release 16th Studio Album, “For The Demented”

Metal Legends ANNIHILATOR to Release 16th Studio Album, “For The Demented”, on November 3, 2017

Album Pre-Orders Coming Soon

Since 1989, Canada’s ANNIHILATOR have not stopped putting out records and touring the world.  Despite the ever-changing climate of the metal world (and releasing a series of “different” metal records with various lineups along the way), Jeff Waters and company have consistently delivered strong albums since the band’s debut Alice In Hell.  Then there was 1990’s best-selling Never, Neverland, 1995’s King of The KillSchizo Deluxe in 2005 and many other critically-acclaimed releases up until 2015’s Suicide Society. The ‘under-the-radar’ influence of this band, and writer/guitarist/vocalist Jeff Waters, has been felt throughout the entire realm of the metal world by a ton of well-known musicians and bands; that influence even stretching into the hard rock and instrumentalist genre.

ANNIHILATOR‘s main man Jeff Waters, in his usual humble manner, offers this in response: ANNIHILATOR‘s music has been influenced by a good hundred of my favorite bands and musicians; you can hear their contributions to what I have been doing all throughout ANNIHILATOR‘s catalogue. It’s a bonus and an honor when bands and musicians I love mention that I had something to do with their playing or songs!”

RIVERSIDE – European tour starts next week!

Progressive Rock masters RIVERSIDE are starting their European tour next week and have now checked in with the following comment:

Hello Everyone,
In a week we’re starting the final leg of “Towards The Blue Horizon Tour 2017”, the tour with which RIVERSIDE came back to life on stage. Two sold out concerts in February in Progresja, Warsaw, and the exceptional welcome and crowds at the April and May concerts in Poland and Europe, made us regain strength and faith in the future. Thank you all very much for allowing us to come back.
After the holiday break and a few summer festivals, we will go back to playing in clubs. We will perform the final 13 concerts in the places we haven’t yet visited this year. Please forgive us for not being able to go everywhere, we promise to make it up in the future.
We have been joined on guitar by Maciej Meller who has approached Piotr’s guitar parts with huge respect, retaining the atmosphere and character of our music. We hope that the two-hour evenings with RIVERSIDE music will make all of us feel that we are taking part in an important event and this year will be remembered as the good one.
See you very soon!
