UK post-hardcore quintet Schemata Theory amplify the global call for climate justice with ‘Our Only Home’, the fourth single from their upcoming album ‘Unity in Time’, which is released this Friday 25th February.
The relentless track combines dark tones with soaring moments to epitomise what is at stake with humanity’s exploitation of the natural world.
Directed by Marianne Harris, the video for ‘Our Only Home’ provides a symbolic take on the current state of modern day society, as actor Luke Burton channels the temptation within us all to live with indifference as the natural world around us continues to be destroyed. Watch it here.
‘Our Only Home’ builds on Schemata Theory’s ethos of creating socially conscious music, such as 2014’s anthem for whistleblowers Courage is Contagious, which struck a chord with global organisations Anonymous, The Zeitgeist Movement & Wikileaks.
Unity in Time is Schemata Theory’s acknowledgement that the struggle continues as we all try to create and develop much needed connections. Our common humanity exists beyond fear, ego and defensiveness, all of which stands in its way. Returning to the studio to work with Justin Hill (SikTh, Heart of a Coward, Betraying The Martyrs) and drawing on their disparate influences in the likes of Killswitch Engage, Enter Shikari and Funeral for a Friend, the band have pulled together their greatest work to date.
