Phoenix hardcore outfit American Standards, has release their second music video single “Carpe Diem, Tomorrow“, which comes off their upcoming record “Anti-Melody“. In this claustrophobically dark video filmed by Jacob Reynolds (Dead Rabbits, Escape The Fate, The New Low), silhouettes of the band thrash amidst seizure-like inducing lights, capturing the passion and intensity of the song.
Vocalist Brandon Kellum commented on the video saying, “We all know the person that’s been at their job for 10 years and complains every day about it, someone who’s planed on going back to school or wants to travel but always makes excuses on why they don’t. “Carpe Diem, Tomorrow” is about getting out of your comfort zone. Being open to new experiences and ways of thinking. Moving is living. You’re not getting any younger and there will never be a “right time” so do something that scares the hell out of you every day of your life.”
“Anti-Melody” comes out April 28th and is available for preorder on iTunes, Amazon and Bandcamp. Watch “Carpe, Diem, Tomorrow” below.
Along with the new music video, American Standards has announced “The Anti-Melody Tour” in support of the new album. The 10 day tour begins May 19th in Albuquerque, NM and will end in Reno, NV on May 28th. The band is known for its powerful live performance so make sure to check the dates below for a city near you.

“Spüken is the musical equivalent of a magician removing his own entrails. The guts just keep coming, like handkerchiefs from a sleeve, and its painful, colourful and cathartic all at once, in the same way that vomiting after hours of nausea is such a relief. The musical ideas that came together in this project span many years and come from many influences. Hearing them all together is a trip. There were a lot of hard times in the years while this record was being written and most, if not all of these songs are tied together by the search for something greater than oneself. Empowerment by going through ones pain, all this is woven into an album that is another spastic stylistic roller coaster not unlike our previous albums, but with smoother blending. From song to song there is a lot of variance, but within songs we have managed to take contrasting genres and combine them in more nuanced ways, with less hard cuts. This album is colourful, and the palette is dark.”
‘Spüken’ will be available as of April 14th on the band’s online store, iTunes, CD Baby and Bandcamp.

Las Vegas, NV based metal band Death In Motion have released the Official Music Video for “Darkly Dreaming.” Filmed, directed, and edited by Chaz Dray, “Darkly Dreaming” is off of their 2014 album, Dias de Los Muertos.
Death in Motion (diM.) is the only efficient words to describe the atmosphere that develops around these 6 devious minds. From their dark beginnings in February of 2006, through multiple lineup shifts, and all the way to their undeniable present, diM. has showed unrelenting grit and drive towards their goals. diM. continues to show no weakness on their journey forward.
Starting from the spine, TwiTch, with thunderous double bass, tribal tom, earth shattering snare, and crashing cymbal work, he can take a distant thunder storm and turn it into flashbacks of a World War battlefield. Mr. Blight, bringing a low tone with skills from lightning fast pulls and slaps to purring placed plucks of the strings. Often immitated, never duplicated. CarveR, dark ambience and murderous sounds follow his wake as he spews the sounds of a wraith into an unexpecting crowd. Onto the dastardly duo on guitars, bAstArd the Clown and AsheS, combining mystic melody with grinding brutality. Swaying leads, fast crushing riffs, healing melody. Between the two, the bag of tricks is never empty. And finally the centerpiece, BeAsT. With a voice born of both angels and demons, he will sing you a sweet sleepy lulliby only to bring you into his vocal nightmare. Be prepared for abusive seduction.
With unwavered dedication and a growing loyal fanbase, diM. has marched into many of Vegas’ best known venues from The Cheyenne Saloon to even the grand stage of the House of Blues, opening for some the most well known national acts (Fear Factory, Mushroomhead, Motograter, Divine Heresy, Agnostic Front, Spineshank, just to name a few). The future holds an air of mystery, but one this is for sure. As the sunsets to dusk, diM. will bring the Days of the Dead in the fading lights wake.
