Nighon released a new video with a strong message!

Nighon released a second single “The Dirge” from their upcoming album “The Somme” which is released May 5th 2017 by Inverse Records.

“We have released a new video with a strong message. The song “The Dirge” raises the question: “Why do we have wars?”. They are horrible and the majority of mankind seems to despise it. The song was inspired by the annexation of Crimea, the Vietnam war and the Korean war. Björn: “The lyrics I wrote tells us about the consequences of letting our hate spin out of control, and when governments twist lies into truths to justify war!”

Their first single/music video “The Greatest of Catastrophes” is a blend of the outbreak of World War I and the Ukraine crisis. The music video was filmed during the winter 2016 by Kasper Dalkarl, David Viklund and Stephanie Blomqvist. Listen to it on Spotify.

Australian Black Metal Band, A Mournful Path, Released a Single!

Australian Black Metal Band, A Mournful Path, are currently in pre-production stages for the debut release on Inverse Records later this year. The band plans to unleash “subterranic tri tonal augmented bone chilling hell.” It is still unclear if the release will be EP or album format. More details to be announced later.

Conceived in July 2016, A Mournful Path is the product of a long standing collaboration between brothers David and Michael Romeo. Born of a mutual love of Scandinavian Black Metal, A Mournful Path is a unique coalescence of modern black, atmospheric and death metal.

A single “From The Wreckage Of Humiliation” was released today on all essential digital stores like Spotify, iTunes, Deezer, Google Play just to name a few. It is an excellent foretaste of what’s to come.

Finnish extreme metal band A Lie Nation to release new EP in April!

Finnish melodic extreme metal quintet A Lie Nation will release their second EP, called “Begin Hate”, April 5th 2017 via Inverse Records.

“Begin Hate” is rough, yet melodic, extreme metal with an original touch that fuses elements from black and death metal with rock-like straightforwardness. The four song EP is a study of negative mindscapes of the human species and it spans from extreme aggression to apocalyptic and self-destructive atmospheres. Heavy hitting rhythms and razor sharp vocals are balanced out with intriguing melodies and smoothly grinding bass lines. “Begin Hate” does not bow to anyone or anything, but is sure to leave a mark with its energetic destructiveness.

“Begin Hate” was recorded during the year 2016 at Oulu, Finland. Recording, mixing, mastering and the cover art has been fully produced within A Lie Nation.

Hate Unbound released a gloomy music video from their Plague album!

Hate Unbound‘s critically acclaimed debut album “Plague” is out now on Inverse Records. The band also released a gloomy music video from the track “I, Martyr”

Daryl Mitchell comments: “For the “I, Martyr” video, we went with an abstract idea. One that implies that a persecuted person, a potential martyr if you will, had fought back against their oppressor and won. Now she is dragging her victim’s bodies in order release their souls. Showing the struggles she has from carrying the guilt and then bleeding out and dying. We tried to not get to deep into the specifics in hopes that people would form their own opinion of how and why things happen the way they do. We hope you enjoy it.”

The band is heading on Spread The Plague Tour 2017 in April:

Nighon to release second album in May, first single out now!

Nighon’s second album ‘The Somme’ was recorded in the spring and summer of 2016. The drums were recorded at Soundspiral Audio, with Juho Räihä. The rest was recorded at Nighon’s home studio. Mathias Lillmåns (Finntroll, Magenta Harvest, Chthonian, etc.) has co-produced the album with Nighon. He is also featured on the song “I Fear For Tomorrow”. The album was mixed and mastered by Fredrik Nordström and Henrik Udd at Studio Fredman, Gothenburg Sweden.

The album is a concept album with stories from World War I, World War II and the similarities between those and the crises we see today in our world. The sound is much more extreme than previous Nighon compositions, widening the contrasts even more than before. The album is supposed to be heard in it’s entirety non-stop. The single “The Greatest of Catastrophes” is a blend of the outbreak of World War I and the Ukraine crisis. The video was filmed during the winter 2016 by Kasper Dalkarl, David Viklund and Stephanie Blomqvist.

The Somme is released May 5th 2017 by Inverse Records.
