Sólstafir premiere first new song of forthcoming album

SÓLSTAFIR are now revealing the first magical song of their forthcoming sixth full-length. The new masterpiece of the enigmatic Icelandic rockers is entitled ‘Berdreyminn’, which means a “dreamer of forthcoming events” and will be out in stores on May 26th.

SÓLSTAFIR comment: “Our first premiere song ‘Ísafold’ came very spontaneously to light. It felt like the spirit of THIN LIZZY paid us a visit that day. Adding a classic Phil Rudd beat to that seemed the only right thing to do. This is not the most typical SÓLSTAFIR track but in some odd way it could be taken to represent this album. For such a short song, it offers many different sonic landscapes. And although we are not re-inventing the wheel and you will find many references to ‘classics’ as tributes, I find it quite different from anything that we have done before. That is the way, I like it and to me ‘Ísafold’ is already an all-time favourite among all our tracks.”

SÓLSTAFIR have previously released the cover art by Adam Burke and track-list of ‘Berdreyminn’, which can both be viewed below.

WITHOUT MERCY Lyric Video ‘In Waves’ ft. Mark Hunter of Chimaira
EP ‘Mouichido’ Out Now!

Vancouver, BC’s WITHOUT MERCY released their latest EP ‘Mouichido’ during May of last year. The EP was a rebirth for the band as it was a re-release of re-recorded material from their 2014 EP ‘Reborn’. ‘Mouichido’ is the Japanese word for “Repeat” or “to do one more time” and is perfectly titled for the EP to signify its re-release of previously recorded versions that now feature new vocalist Alex Friis and bass tracks recorded by Tristan Martin plus live performance being done by Ryan Loewen. Newly added to the EP was also a guest appearance by vocalist Mark Hunter of Chimaira on the track ‘In Waves’, which the band is releasing a new lyric video for and have teamed up with Bravewords.com to exclusively premiere.

Without Mercy guitarist DJ Temple had this to say:

“Working with Mark Hunter and seeing what he could do with one of our tracks was a pretty unreal experience!”

AIRBOURNE REVEAL OFFICIAL VIDEO FOR ‘IT’S ALL FOR ROCK N’ ROLL’

PREMIERE VIA MOTöRHEAD OFFICIAL WEBSITE www.imotorhead.com/world-premiere-airbourne

MOTöRHEAD’S LEGENDARY ‘BOMBER’ FLIES ONCE MORE IN MEMORY OF A FALLEN FRIEND & AN ALL-TIME ICON…

AIRBOURNE have revealed a rip-roaring video for ‘It’s All For Rock N’ Roll’, the climactic track on their current studio album, ‘Breakin’ Outta Hell’ – their first for Spinefarm Records.

‘It’s All For Rock N’ Roll’ was written about Lemmy, a man the band looked up to, befriended and loved, having shared stages with Motörhead on numerous occasions over their decade-plus career, both in Europe and Australia; when they needed someone to drive a large truck (recklessly, of course) in their ‘Runnin’ Wild’ video (2007), Lemmy was the first name on the list, and he duly obliged with a memorable, authority-baitin’ cameo.

Motörhead’s famous ‘bomber’ lighting rig, a noted part of ’Head history since the late ’70s, was enthusiastically lent to Airbourne by the Motörhead camp, adding real emotional weight to both the ‘It’s All For Rock N’ Roll’ clip and the song itself – an anthemic number recorded to honour one of rock’s most revered and influential figures, and also to celebrate the hard rock genre as a whole, the loyalty and the legacy…

Says Airbourne frontman Joel O’ Keeffe:-

“When Motörhead played, Lemmy was there for the fans and the fans were there for him. It didn’t matter what was happening in the world at that point, because Motörhead was onstage; the crew had everything dialled in, and the crowd were there and lovin’ it – all for rock ‘n’ roll…

“Whenever we were on tour, we looked forward to seeing the festival posters with the big Motörhead logo on there, and now there’s just a big black hole. ‘We are Motörhead, and we play rock ‘n’ roll’, we were so used to hearing that, and when it’s not there anymore, it hits you hard…

Lemmy meant so much to us, and so much to rock ‘n’ roll itself…”

Airbourne will play at the Download Festival this June, taking to the main stage for the first time, with a headline appearance at the Hard Rock Hell Festival in Wales to follow in November.

‘Breakin’ Outta Hell’Airbourne’s latest / fourth studio album, released last September – saw the band achieving their highest ever week-one chart positions worldwide, entering the German charts at No. 3 and the UK charts at No. 9.

Finnish Cinemascopic Metal Band CRIMFALL Signs Worldwide deal With Metal Blade Records

Metal Blade Records announce the signing of Finnish cinemascopic metallers Crimfall to its ranks!

crimfall.jpg

Crimfall comments: “We are beyond excited for this opportunity to work with the legendary Metal Blade. It makes all these years we wrestled with the third album worthwhile as we can finally share the fruits of our labor through the most dedicated and respected label. Crimfall never does anything half-assed so be sure we go all in with this album as we see this as a massive opportunity to raise the stakes to the sky-high level.”

Crimfall took its shape in 2007 from the mind of Jakke Viitala. He gathered talented musicians to drive forth his lifelong vision of music that would respect no boundaries. Crimfall has released two albums since then, 2009′s As The Path Unfolds… and 2011′s The Writ Of Sword. Wearing many a mask, Crimfall‘s movie metal eludes easy descriptions. The influence of ancient grim-frost North and its traditional roots meet echoes of black metal, but it is all iced with massive orchestration and epic movie soundtrack atmosphere. The melodies convey atmospheres of majesty, adventure and times long forgotten, as the interplay of Mikko’s demonic screams and Helena’s heavenly vocals bring forth the raw, natural feelings and underline the cycle of seasons and the contrast of ascending lights and falling shadows.

With their third album, Amain, Crimfall has combined the best of the first two albums with new elements. Set to be released in summer 2017, a first teaser for Amain can be viewed at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=R1CCBkqWCX0

Crimfall line-up:
Mikko Hakkinen – Vocals
Helena Haaparanta – Vocals
Jakke Viitala – Guitars
Miska Sipilainen – Bass
Janne Jukarainen – Drums
